We must have been in the lounge together this morning ! On the flight (BA885), I was the guy snoring in 3A. Originally I was doing a LHR-OTP-LHR B2B today, but bottled it and changed my LHR-OTP to Thursday night. However, when we landed last night (via bus although the plane was sitting between two jetways), after getting off the bus I noticed that there was a specific International Transfers Passport Control booth. It looked like the sign hadn't been up long. Obviously I wasn't able to try it - to see if they would send me back down the stairs per @madfish (and other's) guidance, but perhaps there has been a change. My only cautionary note is that the walk after clearing Passport control (to Baggage Reclaim) was very very long ... so perhaps it is a different Passport Control to the one referenced by others.

As an aside, I tried the new (6 months old) Hilton Garden Inn Old Town in Bucharest last night. Previously I've always stayed at The DoubleTree. Everything was better at the HGI ... bed, showers and location. Not as convenient as the RIN, VH etc, but the hotel-airport journey this morning (at 06:30) was 28 mins.

At the Sofitel Heathrow tonight (cheap GBP90 lastminute.com booking), then LHR-HEL-JFK-LAX-PHX-LAX-JFK-HEL-LHR-OTP-LHR landing back into LHR on Wednesday morning. Unfortunately my HEL-JFK flight will stop me watching the England vs Sweden game ... no WiFi on the A330 ... sob !

It was alongside all the others on the far right @madfish .... came up escalator (from rugby scrum of two buses which were parked facing each other when I got off the plane !), then turned left and they were all in front. From memory (and it was a 5 large Johnie Black and 01:00 memory), there was a connecting door going off to the right behind the Transit booth.

No question this particular Passport Control was at the very end (plane end not baggage end) of the terminal building. Perhaps above Gate 32 which BA885 left from this morning.

And I was there too with at least one other person (not an FT user I don't think). I got barely 4 hours sleep at the Vienna due to the late arrival so you can't have got much with a longer transfer to hotel.

Currently in JFK waiting for my 1800 to LAX.

Eeeek .... I heard that baby when I woke up. Not good, but it happens. Pleased you got sorted on your connection.

I'm praying that AY1340 is delayed or cancelled so I can ask to be put on the direct LHR-LAX BA flight after the England match. That or an equipment change for the HEL-JFK flight to an A350.

Hi @Vasco Pridat. As you don't have 90 posts, you can't update the wiki but if you tell us your flights, I or someone will add them to the wiki for you.
I saw that another FTer was on a flight I'm on so we got in contact through FT PM and we're meeting up in the lounge before the flight or on the flight if we run late.

Having been to OTP a few times this year, I have found that the arrival gate (or bus) determines where you end up and it is not always the same place for passport control, which is located in at least two places.

On most occasions, I have found the Transfer security half way up some stairs on the left, which is straight forward.

On another occasion, I arrived at a different area and missed the Transfer security, if it existed. I had to talk my way back through the above Passport desk (i.e. go through the wrong way) to go down the stairs to the Transfer security I mentioned above.

Will be heading off next weekend for my maiden PHX TP run, so will see what happens on my two B2Bs.
