You will get access to the lounge and to Flagship Dining room for breakfast. I assume you're thinking of not checking the bag, but if you can do that, then check in at T7 would b the way to go IMO.

Well I'm off on my TP run next Thursday with an overnight at OTP. Whilst briefly tempted with a night in the lounge I have instead grabbed a reasonably priced room at the Vienna House. Looking forward to the CCR when back at Heathrow and I have a spa treatment booked as well. Will miss the fun of the PHX do but I was already away elsewhere on that date. Looking forward to the trip now. Only my second trip in First.

Saw that some of you are staying at Hotel RIN in Bucharest. I started my OTP to PHX run the other day and I stayed there Sunday night and thought I'd give some information regarding the hotel shuttle. There are two floors for baggage claim. You need to go to the ground floor and walk out the doors and walk through the covered car park opposite. The other side of the car park is some parking areas with coaches, buses etc... This is also where the hotel shuttle buses pick-up. There is no signage about this so we were aimlessly wandering around at 1am until we found a friendly person to ask. The hotel shuttle collects from the airport at half past the hour, and leave the hotel to go to the airport on the hour.

Hotel was ok for GBP 40.

Currently sat at LAX to go to PHX. Not all gone smoothly so far... got the early flight from OTP (after 3 hours sleep), had an 1hr 15 min connection Monday morning from OTP-LHR-JFK. Flight landed at LHR 30 mins early so was hoping for a quick visit into CCR (never been in the one in LHR) but a broken tow truck meant that our gate was blocked and we sat on the tarmac for an hour. Literally ran all through the airport to get on to our 747 ( seat 1K ) to JFK. Slight delay there because the baggage loader broke down but was happy sitting LPGS whilst trying to catch my breath so not too concerned there.

Nice "first first" flight to JFK. Got greeted at the plane door when arriving to say that our luggage hadn't been so lucky and didn't make the JFK flight. Upside of this is that we were escorted past the 3hr immigration queue to the front of the line so that we could then file a missing luggage claim with special services.

Flight from JFK to LAX left on time, but had a little problem with the jetbridge upon arrival which left us waiting on the plane for a while.

Currently waiting at LAX to get my flight to PHX, with an hour delay - seems to be a recurring theme this trip

No luggage yet - BA kindly stuck it on the LHR-PHX flight so was supposed to be arriving in PHX last night - unfortunately we arrived in LAX 8.30 pm and planned to fly to PHX this morning. We are literally arriving at PHX later this morning and flying straight back to LAX so all being well our luggage should arrive at our LAX hotel today - been quite refreshing not to lug that around with us since leaving OTP.

EDIT: Oh and my original schedule was impacted by AA schedule changes (due to 4th July holidays). Apparently my OTA got an unfriendly person on the phone from BA when trying to rearrange flights, and BA was all for cancelling my trip and giving a full refund. No thanks - this trip involves some expensive hotels in Hawaii and my Sister joining me for the Hawaiian leg of the trip - cancellation would not have gone down well! My revised scheduling has cost me 140 TP (think because JFK-LAX and HNL-LAX are now in Business, whereas they were originally booked in First). Do I have an opportunity for ORC? I used a GUF2 voucher for the TATL so that we could fly first class so I got 210TP instead of 140TP for the TATL sectors. If I claimed ORC would that impact my TATL TP's?

Any update on the OTP back-to-back arrangements and whether it's necessary to visit the arrival passport desks before turning around and heading to transit security?
I'm doing a back-to-back next week, using the OTP-PHX fare to ultimately get to LAX. A long way round but about a third of the direct cost and only £400 more than WT so for a short self-funded trip to visit family, cash saving beats time taken .
