A mid-point meet up at Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Airport for those travelling far and wide on the OTP/PHX tier point collection run. All welcome!

As noted by madfish, ORC is for when the airline re-routes you during IRROPS, not for schedule changes which happen months out. When AA do change their schedules call to ask for something different if what you are presented with is not acceptable.

The only three options that arrive on the Sat night are CLT, ORD and MIA. I thought MIA was 2000 but it isn't. Guess I've just lost the 80TP then.

1A is NOT the best seat. Very easy to get your mankini caught on the seat divider with highly traumatic consequences.

Lol... would be great to get that treble on a second airline... having done it on BA. But I very much doubt I will be able to get it.

Thanks all - decided against the drive up there on arrival in PHX and will head to Washington the same day. I think that AA have an unofficial policy to treat separate oneworld tickets within as if they were on a single ticket if one is delayed.

So here's what I am now doing.

Arrive into PHX at 07:36 from LAX
Booked on the 12.55 PHX/DCA direct flight. There is an earlier 08:36 departure, but that's too close for comfort, especially as I may have checked baggage.
When I land at PHX, if we land early enough, I will go straight round to the check-in desk and see if there is early-standby availability for the 08:36.
If not, will check out the botanical gardens for a few hours before heading back to the airport and into the lounge.

Next problem will be what to do with luggage while I go to the botanical gardens - does anyone know if AA has the 4 hour maximum checked baggage limit at PHX?
