It's worth checking your bookings as it looks like there are changes all round.

Mine has changes on all the AA operated flights. All relatively minor, but brings my LAX connection down to 52 minutes...While I assume it meets MCT, a little too short for my comfort. Will give them a call in the morning..

I'm not so used to booking flights so far ahead. So I will just wait until maybe 4 weeks before the TP Run for schedule changes .... otherwise its just too stressing :-)

By the way .... related to another thread "GGL Enhancements" .... I heard that BoB on SH will be free in ET for GGL Members .... I was having lunch with a friend who happens to work in GF Lounge catering ... responsible for Wine procurement ..... mentioned something about new order for Grapewine ??? It was so lost on me ... I don"t prefer wine. ;-)

Whilst not for the Do, I am doing the OTP-PHX run in early August. AA seemed to think that LHR-JFK-ORD-PHX was a suitable alternative to my original flight - I disagreed! Back on the transcon with an overnight in LAX rather than PHX before I start my holiday. Am very happy with it as it means more time in the CCR with my Mum beforehand, more time for a shower in the JFK Flagship lounge, a real bed and then a short hop to PHX. And I managed to retain 1A for all my flights - 11/11!

I’ve also just had some schedule changes from AA. They have cut down my 2 hour lay over into 35 mins between PHX-LAX by putting me on an earlier departure for JFK.

I am going to ring up to amend these flights to enable myself to have more time at LAX. However been reading some comments above regarding AA being flexible with changes. What would my chances of being routed via SFO trans con service instead without any charges?

the last time I was in PHX was in early September in the mid-1990s. It was 116F/47C in the shade, and there was a smoky smell in the air. I thought I had been transported to HELL!
esp. since I was flying on the USA's worst airline at the time, Air West. And just think, the top execs at Air West now run American and United. Now you know why airline quality has declined.

in any case, why would anyone in his/her right mind, want to be in PHX in August????

I'm delighted to say that AA have made a humungous INVOL SKED CHG which means I've been able to cancel my frankly stupid 16-sector LAX-PTY run for a full refund and join the pool party

OK, so a word of warning...

Following my lucky INVOL SKED CHG, a quick check of my OTP-PHX booking showed that it was still "On Request" 5 weeks after I made the booking !

I just spent 30 minutes on the phone with AA sorting this out - it seems that many people who paid using PayPal in a currency other than their own (me included) have been snarled up by a PayPal system issue which has resulted in many reservations (including mine) sitting in "On Request" indefinitely.

Luckily the very good AA agent managed to get the booking unfrozen and payment taken off a new credit card.

So check your AA bookings !!! If it says anything but "Ticketed" then you should probably give them a call...

So AA have adjusted my schedule. For the return trip, I am happy - the earlier departure from PHX gives me more leeway on what was a tight connection at LAX.

For the outbound trip, they have compressed my overnight layover at LAX, making a hotel stay pointless - it was marginal to begin with.

Looking at calling AA to see if I can make some tweaks to the itinerary - apparently they show some flexibility when they initiate schedule changes. Looking at two options

1. Move to the last JFK=>LAX flight - more time spent in the JFK Flagship First lounge rather than loitering around LAX. Only about 3.5 hours to kill until the LAX lounge opens.
2. Extend my LAX layover to about 22 hours and move my PHX flight to the evening - get a hotel, car hire and spend the day sightseeing in LA.

Not sure whether AA would go for b), but it's worth asking.

One factor in this is that the LAX=>PHX evening flight is "Operated by SkyWest Airlines As American Eagle". Will I definitely be able to claim TPs for that flight. My return PHX=>LAX flight is also "Operated by SkyWest Airlines As American Eagle" - and it's the only flight which doesn't show up "My flight bookings" on my BA exec account. Worst case, I can take a 40TP hit and still make Gold, but not 80TPs

Good to know - I'll push for the long layover then and enjoy LA for the day.

Is it normal that it doesn't show up in the BA upcoming flights list - the other 7 flights in the booking came across automatically. The only thing different about that flights was the "Operated by SkyWest..."

I’ve added my flights in April to the wiki now. Does BA886/7 on 9th April officially count as a mini ‘do’ given there appear to be three FTers on them?
