Fair play to the agent. I think we can all agree that in many other places you'd get sent back but then again there's a maxim in life never to mess with anyone whose 'grandmothered' in their position coz that women will end your career in a heartbeat lol.

Hopefully all those attending the PHX meet up do this weekend will remember their tuxedos & cocktail dresses for the flight home irrelevant of class of travel

Still, at least now I don't feel bad about never going to Dubai again
Marhaba service is what it is called at DXB. You can pay for it and receive that service regardless of travel class.

It used to be provided free for arriving and departing F pax (and GGLs) by BA, but was withdrawn a year or so ago. To be honest it's not really necessary these days with the e-Gates at DXB.

If you're looking for a premium experience out of DXB, fly EK. Chauffeur car to the airport, dedicated F and J terminal with security and immigration, direct lift to the shopping area from check in and the lounges run the length of the airport.

That’s impressive modesty, must say.

I believe he’s in and out of JFK more than ever these days (his current wife being a New Yorker) and, if not flying private, often uses BA.

But on one occasion his treatment on arrival after a BA flight involved rather more than an offer to be moved to the front of the queue : this was almost Presidential-style treatment, with co-operation from ATC and a police escort from the airport (1:15 into the vid)

When I got into the line at PHX for security, an old TSA woman pulled me out of line and told me that "First Class is over here, Sir". So I went into the F line . The agent working the desk rolled his eyes when he saw my BP, but he also saw the woman pull me out of line so he didn't send me back.

Only in PHX...where a full suit is as rare as a pink sapphire. Had I been dressed as a local...wife beater, ed hardy shirt, De-Walt wrap around glasses..I would have not been pulled out.
Should I bring a suit to PHX @Charlie26r @teledude @megaloman

But surely the McCartney Shea Stadium yarn is every DYKWIA's ultimate wet dream, is it not?

Make the damn plane go faster! Where's my express police motorcade escort?

So today at LHR I may have given the impression of being a DYKWIA to my fellow travellers albeit be it unintentionally. I had gone to use the self serve bag drop in zone D. Scanner wasn't working and the 2 staff on duty were busy trying to fix another machine.

I decided to go up to zone H as I am OWS. On getting there there was at least 50+ in the queue.

I was about to go back to zone D and wait when a lovely Customer service agent asked if she could help. I explained that my BP hadn't been working on the self serve and I was about to go back and try again given the queue in zone H.

She opened up the barriers in zone G which meant that I skipped in front of the 50+ passengers waiting at the bag drop there. I am sure there was no doubt much chuntering but it did mean I got breakfast in GC before the 11am cutoff.

Edited to add that I certaintly didn't expect or ask for this to happen

Thought I would share my recent DYKWIA, had a wonderful week in Vienna and was returning to the airport on the train to get my flight back. The train pulls into the station and since I am in the first-class compartment, the carriage is closer to the escalator. This is where I first set sights on Miss GC, she's rolling her suitcase in front of herself along the platform presumably coming from the normal carriage, flashing something which I can only assume is her Gold Card and pushing past other travellers shouting "Sorry, Gold!", despite the fact I was close to the escalator, she somehow manages to push in front of me, shouting the same which made me smile and think, is this really happening, DYKWIA.

We get upstairs and I am hoping she's flying somewhere with AA or something, sadly no, we seem to be heading to London on the same plane. Check in seems to be busy and MissGC she repeats the same trick at check and surprisingly a number of older people seem to comply with MissGC flashing her card at them. Moving on, the flight is now boarding and group 1 is forming and to score a hattrick, MissGC seems to be late from the lounge as lines seem to have been formed for boarding, she seems to walk to the front of the line and ask is this Group 1, the man at the front confirms it is, she flashes her Gold card and state's she’s entitled to be at the front of the line due to her status. At this point, the BA Rep, having seen what happened approaches MissGC and ask's her to join the back of the line, the response was "But I'm Gold" to which the rep responds these are also Gold and if she let you go in front of them, they would want to go in front of you, MissGC seems disappointed and moves to the back of the line.

I don't think I have seen a more self-entitled person before but I am sure some of you have had more interesting encounters!

I love this whole DYKWIA thread because of these stories. I would definetly explain her that to be the highest status you need to swap gold for Bitcoin 😂

In what universe does a BAEC Gold Card give you priory access to the escalators in a train station?
