Need a year-end TP run (ex-LON) to make / retain status?
Some tips for searching for the year-end TP run for newcomers, the below is indicative only, but hopefully provides a bit of guidance for relatively straightforward runs ex-LON. Some information on how to use ITA matrix is in post #4 of this thread (or just click here) along with these ideas, might come in handy. Feel free to share results, problems or general questions in the thread as these may not always work and there might be better deals out there...

For overnight trips remember to check BA and Iberia for their flights and hotel option as well, can get hotel for almost no extra cost at times

Need 80 TPs or fewer
Club Europe return somewhere close by is best - DUB, AMS and JER usually cheapest along with UK domestic returns. Additionally you may find that trips in to mainland Europe require a one night stay whereas the cheapest domestic CE returns do not have any minimum stay so can be booked as a same day return. If doing a back to back AMS and JER can be easier than DUB for an immediate turnaround - more information can be found in the back to back thread listed in the forum dashboard. The BA.com low fare finder can be very useful.

If you need as few as 45 TPs you might consider booking economy flights and hoping for a proactive online upgrade offer - but they're not guaranteed to materialise (so not one if you have no more time left in your TP collection year). Alternatively, booking a return to one of the 40 tier point destinations with one way in CE and the return in ET (or vice versa if cheaper). UK domestic route, Bilbao, Jersey and Amsterdam seem the most cost effective for this.

Need 85-120 TPs
Iberia flights via MAD to regional Spanish airports will get you 120 TPs as the domestic Spanish flights are 20 TPs in business. Under Ł300 including hotel can be available. Check BIO, GRX, VLC, BCN, SVQ etc. Example here

Need 125-160 TPs
Take a look at the shorthaul plus routes earning 80 TPs each way in business listed in the first post of this thread, MLA, IST, HEL and RAK are usually available. If time sensitive take a look at BA flight and hotel option to HEL, where you can usually get the last BA flight out on a Saturday, airport hotel and first return Sunday for well under Ł500.

Alternative options include positioning to JER and flying JER-LGW-XXX (AMS usually works well and avoids switching airports).

Need more than 160 TPs
You'll most likely be heading north then - OSL or VNO via HEL will get you 240 TPs, as will JER-LGW/LHR-HEL e.g. LHR-HEL-OSL for Ł520.
DUB-LHR-HEL return (or return to LHR) is currently a very efficient way of hitting 200-240 TPs

Some extremely good fares from Bangkok to Kathmandu on Malaysian just at the moment. These book into class Z (i.e. they earn 360 TP as one LH sector and one SH in each direction), and no minimum stay requirement. They price up to around Ł340 as business smart fares - this is half the price that shows on google flights, so even with the entry visa fee of $25 it's better than Ł1/TP. The only snag is they're on 737s which is no great hardship on the BKK->KUL leg but there is 5 hours to Kathmandu. And then the flight to Lukla, obviously.

For example

https://www.google.com/flights/#flt=...257*.GBP.71257

Ignore the MH pricing, it comes up as less when you click through.

This might be part of the 48 hour flash sale, I'm not sure. Looking at some other routes - in fact I was looking for BKK->KUL when I found these, as I was looking to position as part of an ex AMS run - there are similarly low fares elsewhere.

Apologies if these have been noted before, I saw there were some good fares to Kathmandu, and I think there may be something to Bali.

Trying to play around with the AMS-BKK fare in Google flights. I was wondering if there were any tips to get this to price nicely, or whether this is against the rules?

1)- Having a stopover on the outbound at LHR (of several weeks). Depart LHR-BKK on 21 or 22/7
2)- Flying back from another city such as SIN or KUL (I did AMS-LHR-BKK-SIN-LHR-AMS on a similar fare).... not essential though

Adding these things onto the multi-city thing makes the price jump so I wonder where I have gone wrong.

One was a deal from I think London to Portland, now gone, and the other is OTP to PHX which has been around some time, not sure if it still is. Search the thread as all the info is there. Good luck.

Would have to nest OTP-PHX to make use though, as I don’t believe it’s reversible? (They very rarely are)

Indeed, and assuming the West coast refers to North America, they have the option of all those multi hop routes to Panama.

Panama fare seems to have disappeared along with Cai to Hnl again. They pop up frequently so just need to hold off. The KTM one mentioned above is good if only it worked the other way round

On the Malaysian fares, seems that any ex BKK via KUL to somewhere else is around half the quoted MH fare on google flights, one particular tempter is BKK->DPS (Bali) for around Ł240 - 160TP I think and in class Z. Potentially nice filler in an ex-AMS sandwich.

Yes, PTY runs to the previous ~$1K price is no more . But just as the good CAI-HNL fare was gone for some months, then returned, many of us still hoping for PTY to do the same.

As per the LON-PDX deal, last day of booking was May 8

For the OTP-PHX run, as many international deals, it's not working in the reverse routing. Furthermore, one has to plan for available date intervals:
PERMITTED
01 JUL THROUGH 31 AUG OR
22 NOV THROUGH 29 NOV OR
24 DEC THROUGH 31 DEC OR
24 MAR THROUGH 08 APR
FOR EACH TRANSATLANTIC SECTOR.
So, still alive.

There has been recent reservations on the OTP-PHX fare for the late August PHX Mini-DO , but there is space for more...

The issue I had this morning with matrix was in calendar view (also some issue with multicity?) but worked fine for specific dates. Saw OTP/LHR/JFK/LAX/PHX for Ł1295

I would like to thanks (thank you! ) anyone that shared tips and helped about routes on the OTP-PHX run.

In the end I managed to book for July OTP-LHR-HEL-LHR-JFK-PHX-LAX-JFK-HEL-LHR-OTP, 1000 TPs and a bit over 40K avios, in a mix of BA/AA/AY.
I hope it will work ok

Excellent. Although you won’t be there for the Do feel free to post your itinerary on the PHX do thread where some people are compiling their other runs, especially if you want to meet up with some other FTers along the way.
