Need a year-end TP run (ex-LON) to make / retain status?
Some tips for searching for the year-end TP run for newcomers, the below is indicative only, but hopefully provides a bit of guidance for relatively straightforward runs ex-LON. Some information on how to use ITA matrix is in post #4 of this thread (or just click here) along with these ideas, might come in handy. Feel free to share results, problems or general questions in the thread as these may not always work and there might be better deals out there...

For overnight trips remember to check BA and Iberia for their flights and hotel option as well, can get hotel for almost no extra cost at times

Need 80 TPs or fewer
Club Europe return somewhere close by is best - DUB, AMS and JER usually cheapest along with UK domestic returns. Additionally you may find that trips in to mainland Europe require a one night stay whereas the cheapest domestic CE returns do not have any minimum stay so can be booked as a same day return. If doing a back to back AMS and JER can be easier than DUB for an immediate turnaround - more information can be found in the back to back thread listed in the forum dashboard. The BA.com low fare finder can be very useful.

If you need as few as 45 TPs you might consider booking economy flights and hoping for a proactive online upgrade offer - but they're not guaranteed to materialise (so not one if you have no more time left in your TP collection year). Alternatively, booking a return to one of the 40 tier point destinations with one way in CE and the return in ET (or vice versa if cheaper). UK domestic route, Bilbao, Jersey and Amsterdam seem the most cost effective for this.

Need 85-120 TPs
Iberia flights via MAD to regional Spanish airports will get you 120 TPs as the domestic Spanish flights are 20 TPs in business. Under £300 including hotel can be available. Check BIO, GRX, VLC, BCN, SVQ etc. Example here

Need 125-160 TPs
Take a look at the shorthaul plus routes earning 80 TPs each way in business listed in the first post of this thread, MLA, IST, HEL and RAK are usually available. If time sensitive take a look at BA flight and hotel option to HEL, where you can usually get the last BA flight out on a Saturday, airport hotel and first return Sunday for well under £500.

Alternative options include positioning to JER and flying JER-LGW-XXX (AMS usually works well and avoids switching airports).

Need more than 160 TPs
You'll most likely be heading north then - OSL or VNO via HEL will get you 240 TPs, as will JER-LGW/LHR-HEL e.g. LHR-HEL-OSL for £520.
DUB-LHR-HEL return (or return to LHR) is currently a very efficient way of hitting 200-240 TPs

I'm a bit of a fan of the 4 leg day return hops in the US. Depending on the dates, you have this sort of thing available, 160 TP for £285 :

https://www.google.co.uk/flights/#fl...397*.GBP.28397

It's not a bad use of time all in all, and a nice way of doing a bit of aerial sightseeing. The flight from PHL to DCA is also a nice 30 minute ride with some good scenery at both ends.

QF codeshare tierpoints

Hello FTers,

I was searching for QF coded flights which earn BA tierpoints, on QF site I found a list of QF routes , I filtered it to >2000 miles (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing, please feel free to comment) but there are some strange routes and codeshares for me, maybe the Qantas page is obsolete and the question is does they earn tier points or not:
SGN-MEL or SYD Jetstar or Vietnam Airlines I guess, but it has J class, does it earn any tier points or does it need to be QF coded?
BKK-TLV,HKG-TLV is it El Al with QF code? also ICN-SYD,URC-CAN .I cant find TLV nor ICN nor URC as a destination on Qantas site
PEK-SYD listed as codeshare with China Eastern Airlines via Nanjing, but QF has direct to PEK.
BOM-SIN codeshare with JetAirways
Others like AS flights, YYC-YHZ,HNL-YYZ,...(WestJet), Fiji Airways HNL-NAD,NAD-SIN,SYD-Suva,... Air Tahiti Nui LAX-PPT-AKL.

Despite this being Easter weekend, LHR-HEL-TLL prices at 504 GBP with lots of availablity. I might take this as a TP run and long week-end abroad.

What happened to Europe-HNL TP Runs?

Had a great TP run from exEU to HNL using AA F to pick up 1100 TP a few years back. Are those gone completely now?
I need a trip to US from exEU in the first 2 weeks of April...looking to pick up 1k in TP and spend 5-10days in the US
Any low $ / TP routes for the 1st or 2nd week of April?

Isn't that more than double the normal rate?

It's double what it was when the was THAT specific fare available. Normal fare these days would be around £600.

Btw Iberia have increased their flights between Madrid and Oporto so more combinations for 3 sector trips from LHR/LGW are possible.
With the lounge situation at OPO improving, it’d be great if there were tier points for every drink consumed on the Yeatman terrace.

was too shy to intro myself incase they had no idea about this forum. Would be great to put a name to the face as im sure ive seen them on other flights.

Also big thanks to you all that helpped me book my trips this year to get to gold.
Hi, This is 1C. You should have spoken up. Both of us were on TP runs, as I assume you were. 1D says he is not active in this board but does monitor it.

On my flight out to CTA on Monday I sat in 1D and the lady next to me was also on a TP run. Seems like you cannot get away from TP Runners.

Are these runs still bookable at a good price or are the fares you all booked on gone?

Be aware that there is no BA lounge at CTA. There is very little to do at the airport either.

You can do LGW->CTA for £288 and 160 TP with quite open availability, Saturday to Monday works

https://www.google.co.uk/flights/#fl...;sc:b;sd:1;t:f

You can add Jersey for about £100 more and 80TPs, starting the day before the CTA flight with a return the day after the CTA return, so it can be arranged as a B2B.

https://www.google.co.uk/flights/#fl...300*.GBP.38300

This shows the idea, the timings for the JER legs aren't what I'd choose. I think I booked on the multicity tool on BA and fiddled around until I had the flight timings I wanted.

PS: just following a train of thought, there are some airbnb close to the airport which are multiple occupancy, so it would be smart for TP runners to coordinate. I'm staying at one next week and will review, On the face of things, it looks very good.

For TP earning the flight has to be a oneworld marketed flight.

In terms of oneworld partners the only exception I can think of is flights booked under the Qantas code (QF) operated by a non-oneworld airline will earn Avios and Tier Points unless operated by Jetstar in a class other than L class. So a Vietnam Airlines flight would only earn if booked under the QF code.

Also BA marketed non-oneworld flights earn. The obvious examples are EI operated BA marketed flights (unusually bookable as standalone flights) or BA marketed AS operated flights (the BA codeshare is only available when connecting to or from a BA fight in this example).

had a look at TLV, and there is no code share on the HKG- and BKK-TLV unless connecting from a QF flight ex-Australia, much like BA codeshares on AA/AS on US domestic are only available
Jointly with a BA longhaul flight.

BTW, that URC-CAN, presumably on CZ metal, sounds very enticing, especially if we can earn TPs on it. Or we just wait for CZ to join OW
