Need a year-end TP run (ex-LON) to make / retain status?
Some tips for searching for the year-end TP run for newcomers, the below is indicative only, but hopefully provides a bit of guidance for relatively straightforward runs ex-LON. Some information on how to use ITA matrix is in post #4 of this thread (or just click here) along with these ideas, might come in handy. Feel free to share results, problems or general questions in the thread as these may not always work and there might be better deals out there...
For overnight trips remember to check BA and Iberia for their flights and hotel option as well, can get hotel for almost no extra cost at times
Need 80 TPs or fewer
Club Europe return somewhere close by is best - DUB, AMS and JER usually cheapest along with UK domestic returns. Additionally you may find that trips in to mainland Europe require a one night stay whereas the cheapest domestic CE returns do not have any minimum stay so can be booked as a same day return. If doing a back to back AMS and JER can be easier than DUB for an immediate turnaround - more information can be found in the back to back thread listed in the forum dashboard. The BA.com low fare finder can be very useful.
If you need as few as 45 TPs you might consider booking economy flights and hoping for a proactive online upgrade offer - but they're not guaranteed to materialise (so not one if you have no more time left in your TP collection year). Alternatively, booking a return to one of the 40 tier point destinations with one way in CE and the return in ET (or vice versa if cheaper). UK domestic route, Bilbao, Jersey and Amsterdam seem the most cost effective for this.
Need 85-120 TPs
Iberia flights via MAD to regional Spanish airports will get you 120 TPs as the domestic Spanish flights are 20 TPs in business. Under Ł300 including hotel can be available. Check BIO, GRX, VLC, BCN, SVQ etc. Example here
Need 125-160 TPs
Take a look at the shorthaul plus routes earning 80 TPs each way in business listed in the first post of this thread, MLA, IST, HEL and RAK are usually available. If time sensitive take a look at BA flight and hotel option to HEL, where you can usually get the last BA flight out on a Saturday, airport hotel and first return Sunday for well under Ł500.
Alternative options include positioning to JER and flying JER-LGW-XXX (AMS usually works well and avoids switching airports).
Need more than 160 TPs
You'll most likely be heading north then - OSL or VNO via HEL will get you 240 TPs, as will JER-LGW/LHR-HEL e.g. LHR-HEL-OSL for Ł520.
DUB-LHR-HEL return (or return to LHR) is currently a very efficient way of hitting 200-240 TPs

From JER, the longest easy trip is JER-LON-(short haul+ destination, eg HEL or Greek islands) and return. That would net you 240.
For anything over 240TP (from outside London) you’re looking at multiple trips, going further afield, or maybe a round trip?
I’d be tempted to get 240 as described above, then another 80 points by CE return JER-LGW. So effectively 2 trips, though I suppose you could nest them?

Edit - it would help to know where you’re starting from? If you’re London based, just getting out to JER and back would count as the ‘second’ trip for 80, with a SH+ JER-LGW-xxx return for 240 in the middle. Suspect that could be done with a B2B af JER at both ends, and your one overnight at xxx in the middle but don’t know the schedules well enough...
I take it that Jersey is good for B2B?

With the proviso that I’ve never done a B2B, nor have I ever visited Jersey*, I believe so - at least according to the B2B guide:
Back-to-back / Immediate Turnarounds at BA DestinationsGiven the popularity of JER as a starting point for trips amongst FTers based elsewhere in the British Isles, I’m sure someone who has done this will be along shortly to confirm
* it’s on the ever-growing list...

I was just in Jersey today, and I confirm it looks very easy indeed for B2B. You disembark into a corridor, on which (in one or other direction) is the BA lounge and a toilet (in case you need any cover from officials). This corridor also has the departure gates on. So you would nip into the lounge with your pre-printed boarding pass and wait for the boarding announcement there. I'd be confident I could make it out and back through security too if need be. This is pretty much as described in the guide, but nothing beats seeing it with your own eyes.
I've set up a couple of essentially ex-Jer trips later this year where the first LGW->JER b2b is the evening of the day before the main flight, and a second the day after the main return. That makes it quite an easy trip without needing hotels (as I live near LGW).

Hi All. My tier point year ends March 8th and i'll only be 90-100 TP from obtaining Silver. Does anyone have any suggestions on trips which could get me over the line?

Hi all, I come to you cap in hand for a little input from some of the (much) wiser members:
I need to head from London back to the wonderful city of Beijing within the next two weeks. I tend every year to book the return leg for a few days before Christmas (flying ex-PEK to most destinations throughout the year offers some of the best CX fare rules). The baseline is the Ł750-ish WT+ sale fare, which is not a bad price, but obviously I'd rather hunt for more TPs.
The ex-EU fares in J mentioned further up the thread such as BRU-LHR-HKG-PEK/PVG are promising at around Ł1500, especially with the addition of a stopover in HKG being cheap, but the ratio isn't really much to write home about. I'm just wondering if there's anything else I'm missing.
Getting those pesky 4 BA segments is also in the back of my mind. I have upcoming ex-PEK CX flights booked which will earn the majority of my TPs for the year, but don't do much for my BA "loyalty".
Many thanks in advance!

Are you asking to optimise your routing, or how to get 4 BA legs in Asia?

Optimisation indeed, and all the better if I can get on BA numbers. Sorry that wasn't clear

Anyway...
I expect to fly to BKK in May/June departing from AMS (I know many of you dislike that option but it seems the most convenient way because I can drop the LGW-AMS last leg and be back home) I guess that will be around 300TP.
I need 775 to hit Gold. So I guess that's an additional 500 (or just a bit under)
I'm in London.
March is a good time for me to travel.
I'm probably doing a weekend trip to Luxembourg soonish just because I've never been and it seems like a good value weekend away.
Any suggestions please?

Hi folks - got this one on hold finally! Does this seem a decent price / TP earner ? I assume the JFK-LAS is 140 as Business on BA chart?

I read that link and tried to mimic the itinerary but the result was no flights available. Clearly I'm missing something but can't quite figure it out.

I have an ex AMS BKK/SIN trip booked for 420 TP for that sequence and 80 for the positioning.

@mickeyfly - Nice, and yes you are right. The LAX to JFK is in a transcon which is 3 class and gets you 210TP, however the JFK to LAS is in I which is a two class flight and gets you 140TP

On the "need to fly to Beijing" question (I can't quote for some reason), you might look at Sri Lankan airlines ex Doha or Muscat. Should be around Ł700 though not sure about your dates, 560 TP to Shanghai which I've booked, maybe a Beijing option. You can get to Doha in BA economy or premium economy for a few hundred ex AMS plus a positioning flight. So you're looking at a lot of TP and 4 BA points for just over a grand.
