Need a year-end TP run (ex-LON) to make / retain status?
Some tips for searching for the year-end TP run for newcomers, the below is indicative only, but hopefully provides a bit of guidance for relatively straightforward runs ex-LON. Some information on how to use ITA matrix is in post #4 of this thread (or just click here) along with these ideas, might come in handy. Feel free to share results, problems or general questions in the thread as these may not always work and there might be better deals out there...
For overnight trips remember to check BA and Iberia for their flights and hotel option as well, can get hotel for almost no extra cost at times
Need 80 TPs or fewer
Club Europe return somewhere close by is best - DUB, AMS and JER usually cheapest along with UK domestic returns. Additionally you may find that trips in to mainland Europe require a one night stay whereas the cheapest domestic CE returns do not have any minimum stay so can be booked as a same day return. If doing a back to back AMS and JER can be easier than DUB for an immediate turnaround - more information can be found in the back to back thread listed in the forum dashboard. The BA.com low fare finder can be very useful.
If you need as few as 45 TPs you might consider booking economy flights and hoping for a proactive online upgrade offer - but they're not guaranteed to materialise (so not one if you have no more time left in your TP collection year). Alternatively, booking a return to one of the 40 tier point destinations with one way in CE and the return in ET (or vice versa if cheaper). UK domestic route, Bilbao, Jersey and Amsterdam seem the most cost effective for this.
Need 85-120 TPs
Iberia flights via MAD to regional Spanish airports will get you 120 TPs as the domestic Spanish flights are 20 TPs in business. Under £300 including hotel can be available. Check BIO, GRX, VLC, BCN, SVQ etc. Example here
Need 125-160 TPs
Take a look at the shorthaul plus routes earning 80 TPs each way in business listed in the first post of this thread, MLA, IST, HEL and RAK are usually available. If time sensitive take a look at BA flight and hotel option to HEL, where you can usually get the last BA flight out on a Saturday, airport hotel and first return Sunday for well under £500.
Alternative options include positioning to JER and flying JER-LGW-XXX (AMS usually works well and avoids switching airports).
Need more than 160 TPs
You'll most likely be heading north then - OSL or VNO via HEL will get you 240 TPs, as will JER-LGW/LHR-HEL e.g. LHR-HEL-OSL for £520.
DUB-LHR-HEL return (or return to LHR) is currently a very efficient way of hitting 200-240 TPs

Did a very simple tier point run this weekend.
SIN-KUL-LGK-LGK-KUL on Friday and back KUL-SIN Sunday.
All in Business Class (Z) SGD 678, GBP 374 getting me 160 tier points. Not the most amazing value but still good for the region. without the stopover in KL it would have been GBP 360.
I was not in a hurry so scheduled a 2 hour stop in LGK, having a coffee and some food, basically flying down to KUL on the next flight.
The moment I boarded in Singapore I got a text message that my KUL-LGK flight was cancelled and that I was put on the next flight.. now I was confronted with a connection below MCT and no idea how the rest of my day would look like.
Getting to KUL I collected my boarding card for KUL-LGK, and asked about the next sector.. They ignored MCT and just gave me the boarding card.. I figured heck, if I miss it I blame it on irrops and the below MCT connection that was caused by the MH cancellation.
Landing in LGK, I was the first off, told the surprised crew I would see them in 20 minutes.. and walked across the tarmac to arrivals, back to departures, had to queue for boarding card check and immigration (it was busy) and while quieting I heard the boarding call. Arriving at the gate door they just started boarding Zone A and I leisurely walked back to the plane and boarded..
Lucky for me it worked out..

Hello,
I need to book flights from WAW - LAX flying out 17th January and need to arrive by 15:00 on 18th with the return from LAX to WAW on 26th January. I am a BA Silver card holder and therefore want to fly a One World option. I have seen an WAW-HEL-LHR-LAX option in order to boost my tier points but would like to know if there are any other options available in CE/CW.
Thanks in advance.

WAW-HEL-LHR-JFK-LAX would earn you 400 tps each way. Note JFK-LAX is a transcon service with a lie flat seat in business.

Hello,
im hoping someone can suggest some TP ideas for an upcoming trip i have to the US.
I will be free from the afternoon/Evening of the 16th Nov, in New York. (can do any of the airports for departure, but EWR would be easiest.)
I have to be in Toronto for the Monday 19th Nov in the morning.
is there a creative way to do this, or am i better doing a return flight from NYC to somewhere then heading up to Toronto?
thanks

I'm chasing 270TP before the end of the year, does anyone know of any cheap routes to NYC?
I see ~£1400 from WAW, or ~£1350 from MXP (direct with AA). Any other options?

if anyone is interested, OSL-DOH-PER-BNE can be done for £2,108 through a TA, looking at August bank holiday but other dates may be available.
880 TP return, plus positioning and good connections, too.

If I’m right, I’d actually be interested in the same but from Boston between 12th April and 16th April next year…

I might be misunderstanding @holloway1000 but I interpreted their post as wanting US-based TP runs departing New York, to coincide with when they are already there? Eg EWR-LAX-PTY or something (I’m sure there are better options/valid routes but this is not my area of expertise at all - paging anyone who knows AA routes!)

my work are already paying for the long haul flights. im just trying to see if i can get some TP's over the weekend im free.
Im not familiar enough with the US to even know where to start. im guessing that coast to coast will net the most TP, but it would be good to get a steer on what the best prices are
thanks

Idly playing around on the BA app last night - Google Flights won't bring it up, but BA were selling some very keen Club World fares for Delhi - Honolulu return, even for trips in November - around £2,100 return for a total of 840 Tier Points which isn't bad value if you're looking for TPs and don't mind doing it the hard way...
Not that hard, in fact - some routings were through DFW which would also put you in a flat bed for the US-Hawaii legs (rather than 5 hours in a domestic first seat out of LAX).
Can combine with some Finnair pricing on LHR-HEL-DEL I'm seeing for around £1,600 around those dates and get yourself most of the way to Gold (1280 TPs total) for just over £3.5k...
If anyone is in/near/headed to India!
I won't be doing this - no time - but struck me as quite a cost effective fare for a pure TP run.

Back to Back in Jakarta?
I'm looking at doing a trip to Dubai later this year/early next and thinking of doing the DXB-CMB-CGK run on Sri Lankan.
The Colombo-Jakarta leg arrives into Jakarta at 13:35 and departs back to Colombo at 14:25. This can enable a 24 hour trip to be done end to end.
Has anyone done this trip as a back-to-back? Or can advise on viability of arriving into Jakarta and turning around. I have arrived into Jakarta previously and seemed straightforward for immigration/emigration.
Thanks.

I’m in Houston 28/03/2019 to 02/04/2019 and I’d like to do a tier point run ideally all in 1 day but willing to stop over for 1 night.
Can anyone recommend a route? I’ve got AA service recovery vouchers worth $200 to help pay for this.
