CCR was done not that long ago so unlikely they will do anything to it

Any recent update on the reopen date of the Galleries First lounge at T7? Am deciding between JFK and EWR for LHR-bound flights. Thanks!

I overheard that today is the last day in which the current priority security lane will be used.

By the way, is there an actual formal or informal policy of escorting First passengers to the top of the queue?

From what I have seen - FC passengers are escorted to the front of the security line by the FC check-in area. I am not aware if they have pre-check are they escorted to the front of the Precheck line...

That is what I though I’d read here before and what I was expecting, but it didn’t happen. I didn’t ask because I didn’t want to sound entitled!

I was escorted as FC pax to the front of the line recently, I was TSA Pre as well but told it was a 'combined line', so some of us didn't have to remove belts, shoes etc while others did, depending on BP.

I know @filthymonkey was travelling through JFK Monday evening. Wonder if he noticed anything. I am there next Monday and can report back then but assume somebody else will know before then.

Definitely not. That line can be ridiculous, especially for a premium line. You can ask in a non-entitled way, maybe referencing a past experience of getting the escort. I've never been turned down, although I never ask unless I'm a First passenger even when using the First desks as a Gold. Premiers probably get it too and I'm sure if you fly enough to know them they'd walk you to the front out of kindness.

Hello,

Does anyone know the latest position on this? Is the dedicated fast track security now open? And any word on when the GF lounge will re-open? Like a few others, I am flying through JFK at the end of August and would like to see what they have done with the new lounge.

Thanks,

I got the priority lane on Friday. It's been a few years since I came through JFK with BA. All my US visits are for work to Miami, but this time the price difference against the direct flight back was enormous. Flew AA up to T8. I must say, the signage to get you over to T7 is appalling. If you didn't already know you had to make your way to T7 there are no screens anywhere that would advise you. The lounge was quite busy. You couldn't swing a cat in the dining area. Made myself some tasty Korean beef pancake roll thingys with some very tasty hoisin sauce. Could only find a perch on a stool by the door.

Landed this morning from JFK T7. As a GCH I was directed to a ‘dedicated’ security line behind the First Class checkIn which merged into a screening lane used by non-status pax. You come out at the bottom of the escalator directly by the Galleries lounge. The ‘old’ priority line that was on a gradient and came out near to the CCR was closed off.

Ahhh, the gradient. I wish all security lanes were on a gradient.

I think I was one the last ones who used it last month.
