JFK First Lounge reopened [on 5th Oct 2018] after refurbishment

This appeared on my booking for next week (apologies if it has been posted before).
We’re improving the First Lounge at JFK Terminal 7

22 December 2017British Airways is investing $65 million to bring you an entirely improved JFK Terminal 7 experience. As part of this improvement, we are currently in the process of refurbishing the First lounge. During this time, you are invited to visit the Galleries Club Lounge.
(my bolding)

I wonder how long the lounge will be closed? It did need some attention.

Will they make any special provision for Gold card holders?

You didn’t expect them to offer an invitation to use the Concorde Room, did you?

As per the quote - you are 'invited' to Galleries Club

No special invitation needed as I'll be in F so the CCR awaits anyway

They've already improved it by closing it!

Assume there is no first dining menu available in the Galleries Club Lounge?

Yes I did read that but take it from your repeated response that no special provision is made for GCHs in the J lounge.

There's pre-flight dining (full buffet essentially) in the business lounge, but only for BA J passengers. Not sure if any other OneWorld F pax can use it (CX F used to when they were in T7).

IMO, the T7 F lounge was dangerous - last time I visited not only did many of the socket outlets not work, on others the plates were hanging off the wall thereby exposing the live terminals! This suggests a distinct lack of maintenance at best, so if something as simple as this wasn’t attended to it didn’t exactly bode well for the rest of it ...

Was there a dining menu in GF at JFK? I thought the only food was the buffet stuff they had out?

Any BA F passengers would continue to use the CCR. I imagine any other BA or other oneworld flight (just QF now?) passengers who had access to the pre-flight sleeper area in GC will continue to have access.

Someone did raise this up-thread, but I wonder whether they would have a section of GC reserved for golds/OWE with better drinks and buffet compared to the norm in the GC?

Will the refurb involve getting rid of the coterie of pompous, flatulent tosser bankers, lawyers, and mid-level managers who use the lounge as their private office and continuously bellow on their smartphones as if they were really that important?

Hi,

Surely, BA F Pax would continue to use the JFK CCR lounge not GF? ( or is that also closing)

Happy New Year

Regards

No. I‘m afraid that is an epidemic which has already spread worldwide.
