Both checked checked-in on same PNR. Can only get 1 BP
Hi all,
My wife and I are checked in for tomorrow's 207 to MIA. She can download her boarding pass but it says that it is not available for me. Any idea why this might be? ESTA and passport should all be OK (she's American so not an issue for her). Could it be a downgrade? Flight is showing F0 A0 J0 C0 D0 R0 I0 W2 E0 T0 Y9 B3 H0 K0 M0 L0 V0 S0 N0 Q0 O0 G0. I'm checked-in with an allocated seat, just can't download my BP.

Not sure why you can't download the BP, but hope all goes fine tomorrow - and remember, if they downgrade you you get a lot of avios back

Agree, since it is a US destination, very likely to be the SSSS check, which seems to be becoming much more prevalent. I think c-w-s mentioned elsewhere they had been increased significantly as part of the deal between the UK and US on security issues like laptops etc.
The BP will be issued at the airport, and since you have an allocated seat and checked in, I'd concur - maybe arrive at airport a little earlier, but no cause for concern.

Assuming you have a ticket number, this indeed has the hallmark of SSSS, the percentage of passengers affected has sharply risen. The deal behind this was actually between the EU and the USA, it's Europe wide in terms of impact. More examples and details in these other threads:
No online check-in?
One out of Three Passengers Cannot Check In
One pax can’t OLCI
Unable to print boarding pass on final segment ams-lhr-mia
Boarding pass print not available
Unable to generate boarding pass for one traveller on a booking
[This is just the first 6 of such threads, there are a lot more, the number of such threads gives an indication how frequently this is affecting passengers]

Should a master 'OLCI issues' thread be created? It is beginning to clutter BAFT with all these threads!

Just to report back, the issue was SSSS on my BP. Lady at check-in had no idea what that meant. Now sat in the CX F lounge waiting for my breakfast.
Thanks to to everyone for your help yesterday. The flight departs at 08:55, what time should I arrive at the gate?

As soon as boarding was starting we were some of the first to get to our seats.
The check itself concentrated on our phones and other electronics as well as our shoes.

This is good advice! I had a SSSS flying to JFK a coup,e of months ago and they swabbed everything. Wallet, tablet, phone, belt, shoes (even the laces), collar and more. Most annoyingly they opened up my carefully packed HBO sized case and pulled it apart. The less you have with you the better.
