Concorde years - programme alert
 

Today is part two...but Sky allows one to download both parts in HD already! Thanks for the heads up. That's the rest of this evening sorted...!

It's on Demand 5 too. Related question: where's the best place to visit a Concorde in the UK? Ideally I'd like to be able to look around the cabin and maybe even the cockpit if possible.

There are several ex-BA Concordes on display around the UK. But this place, Aerospace Bristol, just opened recently and seems to be getting good reviews:

If you happen to be near, the one in Barbados is pretty cool, and ideally located to spend an hour after checking in your luggage for your flight home.

Thanks for the heads-up. Being able to pretend I am in the UK has its advantages. ;)

That's this evening's viewing sorted.

Although this hasn't been the UK for 300 years, the best experience for me has been in the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum in NYC. They have a nearly private tour for $ 20 where you are even allowed to open the Concorde's door and sit in the plane (except in the first row — which we where told it's reserved for the Royal Family) and cockpit (jump seat). It is also the particular specimen that set the record in the JFK-LHR flight.

@bil - interesting stuff, just had a quick check of the website and it looks very good.

A little bemused by the special privilege allegedly reserved for the ‘Royal Family’ - would this be the British Royal Family ? If so, are they regular visitors to the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum, I wonder .......?
