Just noticed that today's flight is cancelled. Anybody know why?

I was about to ask the same thing. Second time in as many weeks (per Flightaware) but a colleague was meant to be flying today.

It looks like the flight from LHR was canceled (281) as well. Neither has terribly revealing information in ExpertFlyer:

CITY INFO HOUR (LOCAL)

FLIGHT CANCELLED 0753
OPER
*1A PLANNED FLIGHT INFO* BA 281 -1 WE 29NOV17

DOBA280/29NOV
* OPERATIONAL FLIGHT INFO * BA 280 -1 WE 29NOV17
CITY INFO HOUR (LOCAL)

FLIGHT CANCELLED 0754
OPER
*1A PLANNED FLIGHT INFO* BA 280 -1 WE 29NOV17

As BA281 and BA280 are operated by a 789, it wouldn't surprise me if it's linked to what's discussed here: Atlanta from 789 to 777 change?

It's been cancelled three times in the past couple of weeks. I've had an eye on it as I was travelling on this flight last Friday. It might just be loadings - I'm not sure about down the back but on Friday there were only 4 pax in F and CW about half full. It is the middle flight of 3 in the day so would be a target for money saving of the load could be distributed on the other two flights.

Not money-saving as such, more the least hassle overall - BA is short of fully serviceable 787s (a RR issue, not a BA one), so they need targets for cancellation. Flights with light(ish) loads with plenty of dispursal options are the most likely candidates for cancellation.

Indeed. RR are having major issues with cracking blades, with a disproportionately large number of 787s having to have their Trent 1000 changed. Much like Virgin BA has 787s with missing engines scattered around West Base, I've seen at least 4 today. Thanksgiving light flight loads and plan helps a bit, but cancellations are inevitable.

Hopefully this will be the turning point for the 1000, it hasn't been a great engine so far.
