Thank you for some helpful answers. I do understand CCR is not an additional level to GGL, however it's been a very underwhelming experience compared to my other experiences flying.
I switched from Qantas as their first class cabins are 10 years old and show it. Customer service and status recognition with Qantas were great.
Somebody asked what type of recognition I'd like..... Certainly not the Danish under 21 mens synchronised diving team waving pom poms and wearing speedos as I board. (or would I??)
Possibly acknowledgment of my loyalty, more than anything. A thank you etc. When I was in business, I used to know my repeat customers and I treated them as well as possible. Certainly not to the detriment of first time customers.... But I'm not stupid... The customers making multiple purchases at the top end, were definitely more valuable to me and were treated accordingly.
I've been told that I am a pretty easy customer to look after. When I fly from HKG-LHR, due to the late departure, I have eaten in the wing lounge, I don't really drink alcohol and I eat breakfast in the T5 arrivals lounge. I've literally had flights where I've chosen to just have sparkling water. I am not complaining about BA staff specifically. I think it's a failure by the company to not have things in place.
I have done a few flights with Qatar as they fly AKL-DOH but that's only in business class as it's a 777. I have credited those flights to QF but I was still welcomed back on the Qatar flights and thanked. I was even given an invitation to use the Al Safwa lounge despite flying business class. If Qatar had the Q Suites from AKL, I'd probably fly them more.

I don't even use the GGL luggage tags. There's a huge difference in the levels of recognition of passenger loyalty between airlines I've flown.
I'm lucky to get a 'welcome back" flying BA. I'm interested in other's experience as I'm new flying BA.
I certainly don't want overt attention from any staff. I used to get embarrassed with being escorted from the aircraft through security when flying Qantas into Heathrow.

QF's P1 level bears no comparison to GGL in my experience. The GGL line is significantly better than the P1 Special Service Team line. P1 offers few tangible benefits in comparison to those received at 6k, 7k, 8k, and 9k TP's with BA. QF crews are better at recognising status on board and stop to have a chat but I would much rather have the upgrades and jokers. I'm not particularly bothered by attending events, although I did attend the boxing Day Test a couple of times as a P1 offering.
As for BAEC it is streets ahead of QFF for my travel patterns (8-10 trips between UK and AUS every year....and a fair bit of UK to Europe.)

Does a member of cabin crew going around with a list of people to speak to to say hello, really mean anything?

If not. You've nothing to add to this thread except antagonistic comments.
If so. Try to either answer my initial post by commenting on your personal experience or if you have nothing tangible to contribute, just read.
To answer your first point. When travelling in First there's plenty of opportunity for a discrete welcome etc. Less so in CW or CE. Secondly, if my choice was nothing, or the CSM with an iPad offering a greeting.. I'll go with the latter.

Bronze, the recognition you so desperately crave will not be forthcoming from BA. Seriously, you should just shift your business elsewhere and be done with it.

Could you please consider how you post and your post contents? (I know most of you already have and do post constructively, but I am making generalised comments so that everyone would stop and think about it.)
1) Aggressive tones are quite unnecessary. If we can't be constructive, perhaps we should confine our thoughts to ourselves.
2) This forum is not just for CCR/GGL members, and therefore neither is this thread. It's open to all to comment if they wish.
3) It's a good idea to consider that there is more to life than black and white - lots of shades of grey (and other colours).
Aggressive posts and those that appear to perhaps deliberately interpret posts in the worst possible light are not pretty to read, quite off-putting, and some of the posts are in breach of FlyerTalk forum rules.
I request everyone to fully review the rules so that you know all the rules (therefore I am not going to point you to one specific rule or another).

I'd far rather get support on the ground in case of IRROPS than be welcomed on board. I do appreciate the odd visit when at the back of the plane but I don't get worked up if it doesn't happen. The SCCM will certainly be aware that I'm a GGL from their iPad. Whether they have the time or inclination to do anything about this information, that's up to them.
Maybe, to give the OP their due, I was excited when I first got my CCR card and I did hope to get some recognition. Now I've been GGL for approaching 7 years, I tend not to get excited about very much at all any more !!

I think the BAEC is a really, really good program for my needs, but BA's onboard service can be a little inconsistent. Those GUF's come thick and fast once one gets past the 6000 TP mark, and they make my long haul travel cost effective. BA's hard and soft product suffer in comparison to many other airlines but I think I get pretty good value for money out of BA, and I am probably the only person on the planet that finds the window CW seats pretty good for sleeping.
