789 Flub
Evening all - just a wondering to ask...
Heading to BOM in a few days am in club (no first on sale) on a 789. The first cabin is blocked off as normal. Do the cabin crew ever invite/allow people to sit there on the actual flight? I am a GCH and just wondering if they might offer up the first cabin once we get on the plane despite it not being open on the seat map at check in. Just curious that's all... am already in 7k so a really first world question.
Cheers

You can read about other's experiences here:

Basically, just keep watching and hoping. The cabin crew won't allow you to move up there unless they are staffed to service the extra seats and in that case the cabin will usually have been opened before you are boarding.

Well it doesn't come down to staffing levels. It comes down to whether there are more people in Club than there are seats. If there are too many people in Club, they will move some people forward. You'll still get normal club service.

I’ve experienced it before where the F cabin was closed, even at the check in desk at LHR but once seated, the IFL came and asked me to move seats to 1A. There was the captain’s son, one CC’s parents and me in the F cabin. You may get lucky.

Husband and I (both GCH) were Flubbed from HND this afternoon. Very happy since it’s a 14 and a half hour day flight!
We’d already checked in, boarding passes updated about 4 hours before the flight it seems.
Side note, the First lounge in HND is stunning. And it was almost empty as there were very few JAL flights today.

I’m flying on BA908 to FRA on Tuesday which is being operated by a 787-9. Rows 1 and 2 have become available to select in MMB. Would this be a sure sign the flight is operating with FLUB on the day? I’m currently in 7A and want to minimise getting bumped back to a random seat if F closes.
