Forget ex EU and ex INV, I'm all about ex KIR (That's Kerry County)

So. You probably are aware of my obsession with ex EU vs ex INV.

So, without using ITA Matrix, have been playing about and I present.... EX KERRY COUNTY.

Below are the options.

Some of the flights are different below but actually, the fare was available on all the BA flights on the given day.

So, to begin... here is the ex LONDON fare.

Here is one of the traditional ex EU offers, from DUBLIN.

Then, just for laughs, I tried Kerry County... was surprised at this fare!!

And for old times sake, and an airport I have easy access to... INVERNESS... this is such a good deal and it's peak season too... what is going on with BA and Inverness? Trying to drive out KLM? (Who incidentally offer fare cheaper fares from INV than say LON, and it's more than just the APD)

rockflyertalk and Flame3601 like this.

Looks good, never thought of Kerry - useful if you are a little short on TPs.
With my first ex DUB looming I am questioning my sanity - but then this is FT and it seems completely normal!

€1607 is around £1440 so still more expensive than ex-INV.

Plus you'd need to position there overnight on the outbound so adding to the expense. At least with DUB and INV you can do a B2B.

I'm not sure what exchange rate you use but 1£ is about 1.12€ making the flights ex INV cheaper by about 100€. YMMV.

Never thought I'd see my hometown airport on the BA discussion board.

You'll enjoy it, check in to gate in 2 mins flat. No lounge though

I used that very rate. And that was my very point - the ex-INV is cheaper than the ex DUB amd ex KIR fares in the OP so not sure what your point is.

€1607 / 1.12 euro to the pound = £ 1439 which is more than the £1349 ex INV fare.

I think WorldLux may have been referring to the OP's post.

How is ex-KIR not ex-EU ? Has the ROI left the EU?

If you want to go mad, for about EUR 1690, you can do:

KIR-DUB-LHR-JFK-DCA-BOS
and the opposite in return.

How many TPs for that versus just LHRBOS?

Slightly off-topic but am surprised that BA labels BOS as Logan International (MA) without mentioning the town. Must be confusing for some customers.

Would Stobart Air for Aer Lingus get TPs like that? I suppose it's like NoRRA - 20 each way, I guess?

INV is still in the EU too.
It was a light hearted thread that seems to be have been taking far too seriously. On Flyertalk. Who'd have thought?

Had a very enjoyable day trip to Kerry many years ago thanks to a Ryanair £1 fare. Gorgeous place. Loved the hay bales next to the runway and the fresh country smell!
