BA bringing back the second meal on long haul routes

There has also been criticism of a cost-saving move to reducing catering in economy on longer flights. The traditional second meal on routes such as from London to the US west coast has been replaced by a snack, to the consternation of many passengers.
“We will upgrade catering so that everyone has better snacks and, on longer flights, everyone has a full second meal,’ said Mr Cruz.

On day flights to the west coast USA, WT+ and WT passengers currently receive a hot folded mozzarella and pesto pizza, small cake and a choice of tea/coffee for the second service.
On the return the second service is a choice of the full English or omelette

Positive change should be praised: If BA are bringing back a sensible second meal on a total journey of 7-10 hours (depending on where on the US East Coast you start from and your boarding and arrival immigration experiences), good.

If it makes you feel any better AC offers yogurt and banana bread. Not sure what's worse.
I was getting that this summer still but my flight last week was some crummy chicken salad sandwich with a biscuit. Not sure if the scone has since disappeared or my flight had a catering exception.

Just to confirm, there’s no scones or Afternoon Tea on West Coast Flights?
If that’s the case I have serious expectation management ahead for our first West Coast J flights next year. My Wife’s favourite thing about our last CW flight was afternoon tea and scones.
Might need to resort to bringing my own scones to manage the fall out!
