Your best BA flights

What are your TOP 3 favourite flights you have flown with BA in your life?

I'll start. In no particular order...
  1. First time in CW, and in business long haul. Back from BOM on a business trip, I purchased an AUP. I was assigned a seat on the upper deck. I was in awe!
  2. First flight in First. It was a day flight to HND, part of a 2-4-1 Amex voucher. Months and months of anticipation, reading, excitement. It was also the first time in the CCR. I remember thinking how great the hard and soft product were!
  3. First time in First with my other half. I was very excited about his first time in the CCR and in First. As excited for him as I was for my first time. It was a LHR-IAD, on our way to Hawaii. We had started from DUB the night before, which made us even more excited and filled with anticipation. Staying at the Conrad Dublin and having a lovely dinner with his family who live there made it even more special.

P.S. Next in the TOP flights will be one that I haven't flown yet. Thanks to an Amex Voucher, I have gifted a friend with his first premium cabin experience. First class to JFK to see a show and back in CW! Well, he's paying for his taxes, but he is getting a very cheap upgrade!

My best BA flight was on a QR A320 in the premium cabin during the Mixed Fleet strike. Legroom, recline and 2-2 seating with a delicious meal.

1. Concorde LHR-JFK in March 2003.

2. First time in first LAX-LHR, 747-400 in 2001.

3. Jumpseat home on staff travel on BA10 (BKK-LHR) in 2015 with the most incredible crew ever.

An avios redemption LHR-AMS in CE, mainly because I managed to book it about 4 hours from departure as an RFS when the cash rate was over Ł370 each way. Getting 1A without status also helped...

My best BA flights are the ones where I sleep all the way through. I take it as a challenge on the SIN-LHR route.

Probably JFK-LHR in CW back in 2014. First time in CW, and first time long haul J while travelling alone (thanks Avios!). Was 16 at the time so travelling alone meant I was allowed into the JFK CCR (due to being underage). Had the best meal I've had in an airport so far.

The flight itself was nothing special, slept for most of it - but that's kind of the point on a sleeper-service TATL anyways.

1. My second First, from LHR-DEL
2. A mid-haul J, from LHR-BEY. Seat wasn't amazing, but crew were fun
3. Several CE trips LHR-AMS some years ago, when a couple of the Pursers on that route were amazing at their jobs. One got two "well dones" from me in a week at one stage

The ones I remember most weren't necessarily for the on board service....of which there's been many.

LHR-HKG (Kai Tak) in economy with my younger brother. The landing was pretty spectacular.

EZE-GRU-LHR only time on the upper deck. We were just happy to make it after being caught up in a blockade on the way to the airport. A bunch of protesters had blocked off the autopista with burning tyres and were attacking cars with sticks if they dared to weave their way through it all. Just as it got really ugly the police arrived and escorted us through the angry idiots.

I would also have to include one of several flights to/from INV I've had on a BA Viscount. Just for the fun of it all especially seeing Rannoch Moor from the air.

My first trip on the Babybus from LCY to JFK was a pretty great experience - one hour and zero stress door-to-door from home to the aircraft, lovely relaxed flight experience (with only 14 of us on board) and the joy of arriving into JFK as a domestic passenger without immigration - amazing

My first First wasn't that amazing (ORD-LHR at the end of a busy work week; I just wanted to sleep). My second First was another of my top BA flights: JFK-LHR with some colleagues in a very celebratory mood: lovely champagne dinner in the CCR and one of the best, most professional CC I have ever had on BA on board. Great.

1. Concorde. About 98. Loved it.
2. Upgrade to F, Sin to Lhr, about 90. Ishahak was the greatest CS Supervisor at Sin.
3. Delhi to lhr. About 90. Was booked in F, but chucked in to J by a politician and his cronies. I think the plane was a Combo, but have no great memory. Bloke I was sat next to was surprised about my downgrade, and the crew were well aware. So we drowned my sorrows. Wine was from F. The wine and Drambuie eased the pain.

1. First time in F LHR to Atlanta, a day after I'd run a half marathon and lolling around for a few hours in a nice seat worked very well. Crew was lovely to me.

2. First time in the upper deck of a 74 Vancouver - LHR, I've wanted to get up there since I was a kid and finally managed it earlier this year

3. Outbound leg of no. 2, I was meant to be on the top deck but was upgraded to F. Totally unexpected and nice even though I was booked into a seat on the upper deck!

I am so jealous of you Concorde vets, I looked around the one they stashed in New York where you can do a tour, I'd have loved to have flown in that thing but was a touch on the youthful side without absurdly rich parents. Mine quite rightfully laughed at my suggestion we give it a go

Probably my first babybus too (which was also my first BA J flight!). If not, possibly an LHR-MAN flight a year or so ago (pre-CE UK) - awesome service, great crew and what is possibly the only Gold welcome I've ever received outside of F. Otherwise, nothing stands out I'm afraid beyond codeshares (quite a sad reflection, really).

Sometimes BA gave ex-eu J tickets to the east coast a free one way Concorde trip.
