What is a typical fare for WT+ class from UK-LAS return?

Looking at January, economy is £620 which seems OK given that I am probably leaving it a little late to book. On the other hand, it is low season...

WT+ is £1.2k, which seems a bit steep. However, LAS is a popular route and the flight is direct.

Or should I just avoid WT+ completely? I know that BA use old unrefurbished 747s on this route.

I've bookde WT+ out of Dublin to LAS, on a return basis for £720 in January.

The hard product is crap but it did enable me to upgrade to business by routing via DFW (I needed an early arrival into London, so the direct flight wasn't feasible anyway).

For the outbound, the price difference was only £150 or so - worth it for 75 TP and 3k avios as well as the marginal improvement in the seat and, if I'm lucky, the chance of an op-up...

£620 in Y a bit stiff. I picked random days, 10 Jan to 18 Jan return, and there are options for £520 direct from LHR on Iberia, maybe worth having a look to save some £££.

I'd never pay that for WT+, double the price ? Simply not worth it IMHO. I've recently paid an extra £110 on top of a WT fare (c. £500 ish), for the return leg of a GLA - LHR - MIA. I reckon that's value for money, even if it is also on an older un-refurbished 747.
I paid a similar amount for a return leg MCO - GLA with Virgin. So that's probably my price point ! I'd maybe pay more for an overnight flight, but not for a daytime flight.

Or... get yourself across to GOT or ARN and start there, and do WT+ for about £605. Can route LHR-LAX on the A380. Depends what you're looking for?

Having kept a close eye on LON-LAS over the last few months in WT and WT+, I've seen that the direct LHR-LAS fare always seems to command a hefty premium, and that it's significantly cheaper (like up to half the fare) to start ex-EU and/or fly via LAX.

If you're flying into LAX in WT+ and book the connecting LAS on AA with a BA codeshare, it books into B class which gives a useful extra 20TPs too, if that's important.

My preferred routing is LBA-LHR-LAS.
I have flown this route before, and the connection time is just right.
Given that I also want to depart and return on a Saturday, I may have to pay the premium.

I just paid £1200 for WT+ GLA-LHR-LAS with 4 nights Accommodation at Harrahs in June, for my mother, I then paid an extra £185 to UUA along with 60k miles, but She will get 10k miles back, although her MMB is quoting 18k miles and 360 tier points, looks like the system is calculating as though we have paid full price for CW.

Ordinarily I would do an Ex Eu, but the dates required where tight, so not the best deal but not too bad IMO.

This route the 747 WT+ and WT is terrible, but CW for this price is acceptable

I booked in August for a NCL - LHR - LAS return in WT+ with the outbound being mid-January and the return mid-March and that was £800.80 per person including the credit card fee etc. A further £374 in taxes to upgrade to Club using a GUF2.

This was a dual-inventory fare which goes some way to explaining the price!

Without going too far out of your way there’s some MAN-PHL-LAS fares in January Sat to Sat £935 for WTP via American - depends which week you are going

Going Sat to Sat is a value-killer unfortunately.

If you really want to go from LBA £933 via LHR then JFK (OB) and LAX on an A380 (IB) ( via American ) but it strikes me as a painfully long journey

Going out on 6th or 13 Jan there's no T class availability LHR-LAS which will prevent use of any dual inventory WT+ fares.

20 Jan not even E is available, only W.

Similarly for other days around then, hence the higher cost.

Have you oneworld status in some way? If so via LAX, on AA in the MCE seats combined with some self catering from the terminal eateries before you board, may be a reasonable choice. Just check there's an MCE seat available before buying, if you book on AA.com you can assign seats during the booking process.

not much competition for direct flights from London unfortunately.

Can’t really comment on if it’s worth it, as only you will know in the end. But, in terms of the actual product - the WTP cabin whether old or new, is a big plus and certainly a more appealing way to fly, I would suggest. The cabin itself is the draw.

There are the other options as others have already mentioned, by looking at LAX or you could try somewhere like DFW springs to mind.

Just in case you don’t know, although Jan is indeed a 'relatively' cheap time to go to Vegas (the Strip),there is a convention in town called CES in Jan - normally around mid-2nd week in Jan. It’s a busy time which tends to put prices up if you are on holiday, so factor that in to. It’s expensive on the strip as it is! I would choose just before Christmas for best value, in terms of accommodation if on holiday on the strip.

Came back on this the other night - the hard product is truly shocking - old, creaky, massively uncomfortable seat, window blinds broken, IFE circa 1985.

Didnt touch the food but then I never eat on planes.

Truly a third-rate product - not worth whatever they are charging.

I plan to fly in just after CES has finished, Sat 13th to Sat 20th.
While a Sat-Sat trip optimises my annual leave, it looks like I will have to pay the premium.
I think I will stick with the direct flight from LHR. I can get settled in my hotel by about 5PM. Again, it is about optimizing my holiday time.

I'm undecided whether to stump up for the unrefurbed WTP cabin. Some reviews are OK, some people detest it.

SEVEN DAYS yikes I couldn't handle that any more

I absolutely love Vegas, but after 25+ times, I've realised two nights is now my optimum break before heading off elsewhere. I definitely rate the BA271 arriving around 3pm, checking in sharp and then hitting the casinos. I imagine the Saturday service loads are naturally higher, which could help chances of an OpUp to CW perhaps ?
