Reopened - as a BA lounge or as an extension of Plaza Premium?

First time through YYZ, but from what I can see, the latter.

PP branding visible and at checkin the agent admitted he hadn't yet visited but understood it to be an extension of PP into the old BA space.

Turn right at podium for F/OWE, left for CW/OWS, small space in F, food just light nibbles but there appeared to be table service after a fashion for drinks (in so much as a ninja-esque staff member refilled my champers while seated)

Views over taxiway/runway, pleasant but small space

Sounds like the layout of old lounge. No pre-flight dining?

Not that I was aware of, but I must stress I am not familiar with the lounge in either current or previous incarnations, having passed through it a total of once.

There were some tables of 2 in a small section that could have been intended for dining, but I didn't sit there, and didn't notice anyone else doing so. I was in as a GCH rather than F passenger if relevant

My Parents went through the "new" (Previous BA old lounge) earlier in the week. Said it was the exact same decor and furniture as previous lounge. They were travelling WTP and had access to a similar style buffet that was on offer in the PP lounge... Roast Beef and Yorkshire's.

So odd that they have gone for this Plaza Premium model which as far as I know isn't replicated elsewhere? Doesn't seem any rhyme or reason to it when other places in North America are getting totally new BA lounges.

It's a BA lounge run by Plaza Premium. It has BA logo and you can't access it using priority pass so as a customer, I don't consider it as extension of Plaza Premium next door. However, from operational perspective I think it is an extension. There's no shower facility in the BA lounge but when I mentioned I need to use one, they escorted me to the PP lounge next door.

I'm going through next week so I'll be fascinated to see.

But is this really all we're getting ... the same lounge ... but under new management ... ?

Every time I went through the PP lounge I had a peek in the door of the BA lounge and never saw any evidence of refurbishment going on - so I don't *quite* understand this.

Assuming there's been little done (and the fact was - you could see the old lounge's furniture in the F section of the PP lounge ... so you've got to assume it's been moved back) ...

1) Why was it shut in the first place?
2) Why has it taken so long to re-open?
3) Was it really worth annoying customers?

Maybe they needed to sort the legalities around a lease agreement?

Will look forward to your report. I'll be using it myself mid July. Wonder if the wine and spirit selections will have improved from the PP offering?

Doesn't sound too bad though still wonder why they had to close the lounge for so long and annoy so many people only to end up with...pretty much the same lounge!

Are there any BA staff present or all PP?

Shame. I wonder if we'll see more lounges moving to this model? Thanks for taking the time to update us on the changes. I'll see for myself in a couple of weeks.

Passed through at the weekend. Pretty much back to how it was, albeit with more limited drinks selection and PP staff. As an aside, and not sure if one is 'allowed' to ask this, but why are PP staff ALWAYS East Asian?!
Lovely BA lady on check in suggested that this was not the end of the changes / renovations however - though I wasn't entirely clear what might be next.
