35% Bonus Avios Promo When Converting from Hotel Loyalty Programs

Just picked up on this via BA.com. It states ,"Convert your hotel loyalty Points into Avios between 22 September and 31 October 2017 and earn 35% bonus Avios."

This may be beneficial to some on here , sadly i dumped all my SPG/Marriott points into BA last month

Yeah I converted a small number of CC and ICH points yesterday: ca. 10,000 Avios better than hotel points I will never use...

Has anyone had experience of these promos from the last? Does anyone know how long after the transfer the miles take to post? Do the 35% bonus miles post separately or later?

I transfered some IHG points last week. The IHG agent said it would take between 6-8 weeks, but they posted to BA within a few days. The bonus posted at the same time, as a separate line item.

Hmm might convert my 30k Hilton points.

Also hubby is about to cancel his Amex. Could he dump his MR points to his Hilton account and then convert those to avios and get 35% extra?

He could, but it wouldn't be very wise. He'd get more Avios converting directly to BAEC from Amex.

But if Marriott is a participate you could in theory transfer your SPG points to Marriott then convert from Marriott to BA.

Time taken to transfer

I rang IHG and requested the transfer of 20,000IHG to BA on Monday and the 5,400 Avios credited my account on Friday.

I have 60k IHG points but am waiting for some decent destinations on 'point breaks' in Europe to combine with Reward Flight Saver CE redemption to make a cheap but fancy mini-break....

.... However the 5k IHG point breaks are always to crappy destinations that makes Iraq look like a honeymoon destination
