BA introduced BOB without any, to my knowledge, 'stealing' of food & now apparently can't properly service the entire aircraft on 3 & 4 hour flights. Given that, taking a bag of crisps from the lounge based on status you've earned with the airline seems entirely sensible.
Taking 6 cans of Heineken is tacky & reflects poor judgement.

It's not really a prediction, but a (mostly) lighthearted discussion. Several try to justify this tacky (perhaps criminal) behaviour, while others comment on potential consequences of the behaviour to show this is not a victimless 'crime'. We could all be affected by the consequences of this abuse, should BA decide to make any changes - which perhaps, may be, unlikely.
I wouldn't be so quick at dismissing the consequences you mention in (1) and (2) above, the lounge at DUB recently changed its catering so that nothing can be removed from the lounge, and there is now no self-pour alcohol. Many contract lounges are adopting the same, it is not as ridiculous as you suggest.

Also, if you're fully against people removing things from the lounge, surely you'd welcome BA coming in and defining the rules/stopping it?

You hint again at criminal, after earlier also saying it's theft. It isn't theft and you know it. It doesn't seem very light hearted tbh, especially your additions.
