Looks to me like 50% bonus for all amounts, so a better deal?

Ah, must be a targeted offer at different levels for different members. Thanks for posting that ^

Just checked a family member's account (Bronze) and he is also getting only the 35% offer.

Maybe be a silly question but I didn't get any e-mail it was only on checking on the purchasing section on ba.com which then showed up the offer.

Did you do that?

Are the Avios usually
credited immediately?
Have a friend looking to upgrade a flight and short a fair few Avios, would not want to point him to this and the availability disappears whilst he's waiting for them to hit his account.

When I have done it they usually appear almost instantly. Of course one has to log out and then back in which should then refresh his balance immediately, that's always been my experiences over the years.

No email here - I only checked as I saw your post
I wonder how they decide on the targeting for this - perhaps they saw that my account is looking a little empty so I might be tempted to splurge...

50% for me... makes the shortfall for a SYD 2-4-1 next Xmas easier to stomach.. However this will end up being £1330 each (£700 fee, purchase of Avios plus 300k).

Food for thought

So how does 150,000 avios for £1615 sound to experienced avios consumers? Worth doing on the off-chance? I'm also seeing the 50% bonus.

I'm not sure how they decide to be honest, a dark art like revenue management I suspect and some complicated algorithm involved.

Some out a specific value on them but my own personal view is that if you need them then the option is there to buy them and it also depends how much value you are going to get out of them and I mean that by not just financially.

As an example I may indulge as I would like to do LAX-NRT in JAL F which is 175,000 Avios + £115.00 which is very good as you won't get anywhere near that for a F out ticket and J back that's for sure.

If you're a tad short or using a 241 then it may prove useful too. For intra Asia and the USA then they can provide decent value too but it's very much a personal thing and I very much look at the enjoyment factor, as in my planned JAL F flight.

Out of 150,000 you can get a few UuA for that so if you got 5 say then that's £325 each roughly and much cheaper than a AUP or POUG usually especially on the very long hauls.

They can also prove useful to have if you do last minute RFS flights and actual revenue prices which are eye watering at short notice.

Hope that makes sense but at 50% it is overall a decent offer but the above is just how I look at it and others probably have a different view and which of course I respect but may not necessarily agree with so as always......... YMMV!!!

I'm seeing the same. If I use my BA Amex there's an additional 4,845 avios (assuming these payout the 3 avios per £.) Works out at 1.04p per point.
