On my menu for the starters there are 4 choices, smoked salmon, mezze platter, soup and a salad, is it a starter or a salad or can you have the salad as well as the starter? I flew CW a few years ago and I’m sure I had a starter and a salad? Has this now been reduced?

No you can have a starter, soup and salad if you want, most customers have a starter plus a soup or salad.

brilliant thanks, the choices on my flight all sound good so it will be nice to have the starter and add soup or salad

It appeared on the LGW to Bermuda (and vice versa) a few weeks back, this route always feels the very last to get any updates so maybe it is network wide now.....

Hi greyt,
Is this the catering you are referring to?
So the LGW catering has been updated to the new catering?
Jeff

Watch out for the "prawn cocktail" starter! It's a beautiful presentation consisting of TWO (2) small prawns with lettuce and lots of sauce to fill the plate. I guess it's good the BA is so stingy as only skinny passenger can fit in the Club World seats anyway....

To update previous posts I have made in respect of the ability to deliver the new hand-run service in a timely manner: On the 788 with a good (in this case MF) crew it’s possible to deliver a comprehensive, efficient, tailored service, and do it well

And the catering remains well ahead of before - even from much maligned (by me, at least) outstations such as Johannesburg.

My companion didn't think much of the breakfast card idea on a recent JNB-LHR:

Most of the new bedding was nice, but as some others have said, it was hard to find somewhere to stow it for takeoff. Oh, and this: "The pillow was too big" - that's a new one on me.

Perfectly acceptable. OK, the individual hand-carried items seems a bit slow, but on the u/d of a 744 it's hardly an issue.

And were they on the ball with drinks refills and so forth? That’s raised as a problem area with monotonous frequency (imcluding by me!)
