The trolley isn't for everyone, but crew were heavily involved in the design and there are many crew who deliver the service properly and in a timely manner. It isn't just managers, who have been heavily involved, that are disappointed, but also crew who have been proud to deliver the new service.

We'll see how the new standards work, but I fear it'll be faster service but you'll never see a second drink.

Again, thoughts are my own .
Any further information on the new standards that you are able to share?

Do you think this could still return on the pending rollout of the new Club World seat?

It's exactly what it was intended to be. The Capital Markets day presentation made it clear that it was a cost cutting initiative, dressed up as something to improve customer experience. To the financial markets, BA were very clear about what it was.

I’ve met enough tossers to have become a hand job expert.

i don’t think the new club catering was ever marketing to investors as a cost cut. It was more a “we are behind so here is how we are catching up and winning the 8k USD JFK ticket customer.”

As per EK. So, expect even slower service - especially for drinks. The difference on EK being you can nip to the bar if you're desperate for a top up (at least on the A380).

What a shame the trolley service is being canned (for now?). I would agree the hand run service on EK can be painfully slow. What with the occasional language issues I have had some really inept service, although having the bar does compensate for this once they've got it all set up - what are the J class crew ratios on EK compared to BA? Although the old trolley service for drinks was hardly sexy, you could at least get a GnT together with a glass of water and perhaps a glass of red to 'breathe' all at the same time without causing too much inconvenience. If everything is run by hand now I can envisage the crews getting fitter, every cloud...

Haven’t seen any November announcements yet for new catering but just selected my CW meal for BKK mid November and looking at the menu it looks like it might be the new catering - Soup is included as a starter option which I didn’t often (if ever) see with the old catering. It’s not even necessarily the new catering I’m too fussed about but much prefer the new glasses etc ... fingers crossed.
