So, Ba286, Sunday SFO-LHR.
I awaited absolutely nothing
...then...entering the plane, welcomed by FA with greeeeaaat smile giving me a White company amenity kit.
I:
jumped up almost crashing the roof of the plane screaming: Weeee got the new beddddiiiiing!!!! Yeeeeessss!!!!
FA: calm down. sir. Its just the kit. Everything else is old... changes go slowly....

But. the kit bag is nice. I am home and happy

I flew out of JFK last night so got the bag and bedding.
Nice sized pillow and threw the blanket thing over myself. Didn't look at the other white thing in the bag that I assume was some sort of ground sheet?
Luckily had 3 side bins so easy to store the things rather than filling up the overhead bins with them.

Robiles

Really quick through immigration on this occasion. We have Global Entry but some guys on the same flight were very quickly through the regular line.

A little dog was sniffing all the hand luggage, but did not spot the chocolates we brought off the plane!

The experience, once we landed, was very good. Real excitement was our aborted landing from what seemed like just a few feet.

Our flight attendant was was a bit grumpy, but we both agreed that the meals were among the best we have had in Club for quite a while.

The US Customs APHIS dogs don't care about food you're allowed to have; they're simply looking for foods you're not allowed to import.

We used to regularly travel to IAD with 4-5kg of chocolate candy (Cadbury's Roses, etc) and a couple of kg of Cheddar for friends. Declared, of course ... Customs were never in the slightest bit interested.
