Ba 348 this afternoon - gone tech!

On my first 767 short haul sector (ba348) heading to Nice. Door 2 won't seal and we aren't moving 50 minutes after scheduled departure. Has anyone got any idea what is the chance of being de-plained and do you think they will lay on a replacement or send us home to make alternative arrangements. Really need to get there tonight.

Showing delayed departure of 18:30

The 17:40 is showing 8 minute delay.
There is also another one at 20:50

I see your departure time keeps shifting backwards which is not great.

Are you hand baggage only?

The 20:50 departure (BA352) has lots of empty seats at the moment. If the flight you're on is cancelled a brisk walk to the nearest customer service desk or ticket desk in Galleries South should sort you out. ^ BA352 will fill up quickly but has at least 9 seats in J & 9 seats in Y available.

If needed, you may also be able to rebook yourself using the BA App if you have it.

Update - we are being moved to a replacement aircraft, although no information on how long this might take.

It's a shame.
Those old birds have seen better days right enough.

We still have the option to get off - has anyone got a view as to whether we should stick it out on here and swap plane or ask to get off and aim for the 20.50?

Personally I'd get off and get yourself on the BA352.

That flight always leaves, as it night-stops, so BA near enough never cancel it.

The 348 on the other hand, is renowned for delays and cancellations; I say this, after near on 24 years commuting between NCE & LHR!

Assume OP is still on plane and may be running out of phone battery. I would just sit it out now and hope that they go over the 3 hour delay, but not too much over. They would still arrive earlier than the last flight (hopefully).

Then apply for EU 261

It is useful to add the route (LHR to NCE) and date to such thread titles.

Hope you got to the beach eventually!

BA352 now showing a departure 4mins late, so all looks fine there now and the OP's BA348 flight is due to reach Nice 6mins shy of EC/261 territory!

If he's lucky, the OP will be sent to a bus stand at NCE, adding a few minutes onto the timing for EU261.

Fingers crossed!

BA.com saying it has arrived with an on-stand time of 22.11 - so close yet so far!
