Just to resurrect this thread but I had the transfer from T5 to T3 yesterday, arriving on BA1395 from MAN and departing on BA275 to LAS. I was upgraded from 6C to 1D on the flight (and foolishly downloaded a new BP before going through the biometric check adjacent to gate 142 and hence having to wait for the CCTV to be checked to make sure it really was me) and when the CSM came round with the trolley he told me that someone from Premium Services would meet me at LHR and I would be driven to T3. As others have said the major benefit apart from the time saving is that you don't have to clear security at T3 - it's a true airside to airside transfer. I was very impressed with the service and will be providing suitable feedback to BA.

Travelling EDI-LHR-MIA CE/F today and on arrival at LHR we were met at the end of the air bridge and transferred direct to T3.
Brilliant service and no security screening again was an added bonus.
Positve feedback will definitely be sent.

Van transfer
So there I was, minding my own business while disembarking at T5 en route to a transfer over to a T3 departure, when I noticed a BA staff member at the jetbridge holding an iPad with my name. The next thing I knew, he'd opened the jetbridge door and asked me to go down the stairs to the tarmac, where there was a van waiting to take me directly over to T3. Is this a new service for passengers on short transfers, or is it a standard GGL thing? I've just managed to attain the latter so I have no idea what's new and what's not...
I thought it was a great idea from BA (at least it was in theory... in practice what happened was that we made a detour towards one of the remote 'T5D' bus gates instead of T3 as "...that's wot I got on the piece of paper from my dispatcher...")

Were you on a tight connection? There have been comments from others about transfers for GGLs but my last 2 T5-T3 connections, travelling F both times, have resulted in long queues and lots of standing on buses. I’ve heard rumours that things should start to get better for GGLs from 16th June in this area. Would be good if true

We had this last week when flying EDI-LHR-MIA. Our connection wasn’t particularly tight and we were 2 basic golds travelling paid 1st another passenger also joined but not sure of his status or cabin, he was in one of the lounges. Brilliant service as it meant we skipped the extra security check at T3 as well as the bus. I think we were let into T3 around gate 40.
I did fill in the survey about the service and sent a well done about the driver. He did say it was a pretty new service.
A few days later on the return unfortunately it was back to the usual walk, bus, escalators, security.

It’s only when connecting from domestic flights but as a result, at certain times, they have an over-capacity and will do it on connections that aren’t tight at all... whilst plenty of GGL arriving from international flights get no support and consequently miss their connection.

When you say they were holding an iPad with your name, was it held up to display? if there are more passengers do they do multiple iPad displays? Curious about the logistics. Sounds a bit random, I don't usually do this much so likelihood of me running into it seems close to zero. Did have a dreaded transfer the other week for the first time in a long while, which was the usual bag of fun. That said I was from bus drop to CCR in less than ten minutes by going through immigration and F wing security, so that piece of the process is working quite well

On some of my trips I have had company (couples and single passengers) and the other person's name was also on the iPad (though I've also had an occasion when 2 iPads were deployed). However the crew also tell you (OK, tell me) when this is going to happen. For the Jag it seems you need to be on your own or with just one other passenger.

I quite like the idea of a Jag transfer, (not that I would ever get one) but a van transfer? Sounds a bit like a DHL van, or a Tesco van. The mind boggles! Do they wrap you up in a parcel first?

Just an Americanism where people carriers and small buses are sometimes called vans. In reality it's a Mercedes

I don't understand why some people call large passenger vehicles as vans
