Latest time to enter APD and FF details

I've booked someone a surprise trip and would like to leave the surprise as late as possible. When's the latest you can enter the advanced passenger details on the booking. I'll also need to create her a BAEC account and add that number. I've picked us seats already. So could we leave it all until check in at the airport? Flying to DXB if that makes any difference. Both British so no need for VISAs.

Check in is the latest time to add API. Enjoy the trip

That's correct, but I don't see any reason not to enter the API ahead of time - that info simply goes to the API system and won't reveal the secret to the passenger. The ticket itself is, presumably, already in her name. For disruption contact details, OP can simply enter his number.

Similarly creating a BAEC account will only reveal something if you use her email address, which you may want to do for simplicity. In that case you could actually create her account after you've flown, and get a retrospective credit. Alternatively you could create the account using your own email address now, enter the FF number in the booking beforehand or at check-in, and change the email address later on.

I'd have to get hold of her passport which won't be easy I just wanted to check
there was no reason to not wait until check in to enter all of this.

thanks for info

Nope. The main reason to do in advance would be if you wanted to do OLCI in order to pick seats that may open up at that time. You won't be able to OLCI for her without the API. However, if as a Gold you have already picked seats you are happy with, then the rest can be done at the airport.

You are fully aware that her passport is valid?
