Is the "filthymonkey" steak method to be adopted?
When I flew back from SEA in F the other day I opted for the monk fish which sadly was overcooked. I mentioned this to the CSD who said he would feed back my comments, we then discussed the fact that food, especially steak is usually overcooked and not really appropriate for a "First Class Dining Experience". He then told me that crew are being trained to cook the veg and steak separately, the method I believe should be credited to filthymonkey!
Lets hope this is true!

Haha, thanks for the credit ^
Let's hope they adjust the cooking times to suit as well. I've only had one refusal to follow my cooking method so far this year (which resulted in inedible, over-cooked meat!) so that's a 93% success rate of perfectly pink steaks

I gave the crew a print out of the post on a LHR-HKG (in F, obviously) after a bit of banter to establish whether they were game.
Luckily the galley chef was most receptive and came up with the goods. Another crew member definitely curled their lip though

Just to add that I had a bit of steak that was tough as old boots on my first First last week BA11 Lhr -Sin. I had to saw through it; 'Well done' would be a slight understatement. Whilst it was disappointing, after reading this forum it was not so unexpected, and the experience didn't really tarnish what was overall a rather comfortable flight. I would be interested to know what the Filthy Monkey method is for the return trip in a few weeks The fish on the second leg BA15 Sin-Syd was much better as a dish.
