Is SFO losing the A380? I've just looked for next summer and it's still showing as one A380 per day in the booking process.

Might try and cancel altogether Ba not looking too good so far!!
If there's space, especially in the same fare bucket, I think they might. Give it a go.

Refurbed 747 is pretty nice.

As it's the worst of the WT+ cabins with the new seats this isn't such a loss.

If it means that much to you I would write, yes write an actual letter, to Alex Cruz telling him of your disappointment with the aircraft change as you desperately wanted to fly on the A380.

I believe the A380 is operating to ORD this winter, so some juggling of the schedule was needed.

Same has happened to me in December. At booking, tt was an A380, changed to a 4 class 772. I had the option of booking SJC on the way home, but went for SFO instead, partly the A380 and partly the slightly better flight time, IIRC.

Quite disappointed that we're now on the unrefurbished 772, but there is very little we can do I think, other than change to an A380 operated service on Mon, Tue and Wednesday, I believe.

There has been a thread about this on here for quite some months now, so this isn't new news.

I can't find the thread right now, but I seem to recall it is A380 3 days a week and 747 2 days and 777 two days also, with the morning flight always being a 747.

If you want an A380 just try a different day (I think it might be Thurs, Sat and Sun, but I can't remember precisely).

Refurbed 747 is pretty nice.
I believe the 747 sometimes used out of SFO is the new config. It's pretty nice, and one good thing is with the "smaller" aircraft you don't have to experience the very crowded boarding scrum of the A380 at SFO. Also, if you're silver or above, you might even be able to find a seat in the BA lounge haha. And finally, the newer 747 has a tiny PE given the size of the aircraft - it often fills up first, so if you've got a seat there, a proactive upgrade (POUG) offer might be in the works. These are the positives that I can think of!

The 380 is a nicer ride for sure, but 747 - not too bad!

To be honest I would consider the super-hi 747 configuration superior to the A380. To be honest even with the old IFE, the upper deck is something special - and time limited. I think there is a reasonable argument that the upper deck Super-Hi J is currently the best CW seat in the fleet.

For some reason Ive never slept well on the A380, on overnight flights. I don't there are any particularly better or worse seats on the upper deck, at least, Ive never travelled on the main deck. So, even though the 777 is my least favourite aircraft, maybe it won't be so bad.

Will the new CW service be rolled out by December? I don't think it will quite be on the SFO route by then?

Yeah i agree thread states but said A380 would remain on day7 sunday which i am on. Tried to swap to 747 but theres a charge. Nope. if its refurbed its not so bad. Are they not refurbing the 777.??

380 doesn't do the YVR route in March.
