While Nashville is growing faster than most aggressive weeds, it does not have the airport infrastructure(yet) to handle an a380.
Expansion of BNA is going full force to handle the current increase and future increase in air travel but the a380? doubt it.
We would be "lucky"(and that is debatable) just to get a 787 on BA-not a fan of BA so that will likely not make me want to fly to LHR from BNA due to the awful airport taxes/fees.
But any non US carrier who decides to fly to BNA will hopefully get us better European or ME carriers in the future than BA.
BA probably realized that passenger base for travel out of BNA will get a lot of passengers from Memphis and Knoxville who do not want the hassle of flying to Atlanta for a TATL flight. Travel time to BNA from both cities by car is about a 3 hour drive. BNA may also be attractive to passengers from Birmingham and Huntsville, AL?
Lots of medium sized cities that would get passengers to BNA instead of the headache of ATL. Small to medium size cities in Kentucky would also be a draw.
Nashville has an amazing conference center and hotel rooms are popping up like mushrooms plus it is also a favored destination wedding location due to the great music, great restaurants and so many other activities here.

I can't believe people upthread genuinely thought they might launch BNA with an A380 - were you joking?!
Even EK doesn't launch new routes with an A380.
BA (like most other airlines) has a fairly standard pattern of launching long-haul routes with a less than daily or maybe daily frequency using one of its smaller aircraft and builds up from there. Which makes sense.
