So exciting!
I am taking my first F in just over a week... I am counting down the days... hours! I haven't done a lot of travel in any class above WTP and only really started flying in CW a couple of years ago... I am 57 and I too am very excited and reading about your experience makes it even more so.
Enjoy to the full!

My first F was on LAX-LHR (a question around it is what made me stumble upon FT - never looked back!!) was blown away as not a premium traveller previously, and two celebs to boot. I still get excited, only do 4-6 segments a year.

Good to hear all went well and I hope that you enjoy the flight to SIN.
I know some folks say when they see another my first First thread they think oh no but if we all remember our first J/F flight you can't deny it was a great feeling and it's good to hear the OP animated in a good way.
I still get a little butterfly when I am going into J or F the latter which hasn't been for a while now.

Good to hear your experience at LBA, on the LBA-LHR flight, at LHR (did you really exit landside just to use the first wing? ) and on your LHR-SIN flight have been good so far.

Mostly good then but I thought F dining was an "on demand" service? Did you ask for it sooner and they just not deliver or did you not ask? Apart from the wait what else was dreadful about it?

Do you know why there was such a delay in being served dinner?

OTOH, such a pity that your dinner experience was so disappointing in terms of both quality and the long delay ; all the more so, given that you were understandably looking forward so much to your first flight in First. Certainly sounds like the couple seated opposite you were far from happy !
I personally tend to set fairly ordinary expectations for airline food across ALL classes, and ALL carriers. Sometimes the expectations are exceeded, sometimes not. Realistically, the constraints & limitations of an onboard galley mean that perfectly-prepared hot meals can never be assured - or at least not to the extent they can be in a highly-regarded restaurant. Hopefully you will be a little more impressed with the catering on your return sector.
Hope you all have a great time in Singapore.

Just returned from EWR in J and had the best steak I've ever been served on an acft. Was still pink in the middle. had flavour and was juicy-unlike the usual BA shoe leather offering!Carrots and green beans were just al dente too..well done to that crew. Old hands I'd say,a few touches gave them away... checking for seatbelts in middle of night with a little torch, and offering wine top ups during meal service just by offering bottles round, rather than entire trolley..
