Awesome! I travel HBO so will look to arrive from LM around 630 as no need to Flaff about at airport any longer than needed. Great to see that T2 is so efficient in the morning. Assume BA check in still closed promptly T-45? Thanks to all for the info

I didn't say efficient, I said empty. Nothing is efficient at CAI. Check in closes at T-60 per normal Longhaul outstations.

I wonder how it will be for the 03:45 departure? EF shows a few flights an hour before and an hour after, but nothing else at the same time:

Doesn't look too bad, the main issues with T2 will be when the SV A330/B777 and the EK B77W are there. Also to note is that some MS services are being operated from T2 now, a couple of A330s to DXB and CDG I think but these are later in the morning although that could change if they move more flights over.

For Ahlan service you are checked in at the private entrance, they take your bags (I presume as I HLO), you go through one security X Ray and you are escorted to one of the four lounges exclusively for their use.

They generally collect you for boarding with your immigration formalities processed, you complete another security X Ray immediately outside the lounge area and you’re driven by buggy to the gate. I believe other lounge guests also pass through this checkpoint.

The LM is connected to T3, not T2 where the VIP terminal entrance and exit is. If using on arrival just call the LM. to pick you up in their shuttle on demand. They will drop you off on demand, as well.

You can walk but you’ll be on the road which I don’t consider safe from vehicle traffic and there in no designated footpath. There’s also a crowd of drivers outside who, although harmless, will hassle you.

N.B. The VIP car service will take you from the bus gate arrivals to the VIP terminal via the tarmac which takes 90 seconds max. It isn’t used for departures as there are generally aerobridges.
I am curious, it sounds like this service helps on arrival (especially if not at a proper gate, but does this ever happen with the BA 155) but I guess I am not really understanding what is expedited on departure from CAI. I contacted the VIP service and they insisted there was nothing expedited about security lines and that we would need to arrive at least two hours before the flight... what is expedited about that especially if traveling with only carryon bags!?

I wanted to see them again, but they don't load, at least for me:

Also, the link in that post to the airport services doesn't load either:

Since the photos and the link are from last year, perhaps it's just bit rot.

Welcome. There are comp food and beverages but we don’t touch anything other than bottled water. (I know EK and EY are catered on the inbound and pickup nothing from CAI catering, not even ice). Unsure of BA.

The arrivals lounge is in the same style, but on the ground floor. There will retrieve your luggage using your luggage receipt, too.

If staying in Cairo you can get your hotel limo to pick you up immediately outside.

My company have changed all employees away from BA because of these new timings, and we have multiple people flying that route every week, so it will be a small loss for BA

Out of interest what are they doing instead, risking their lives by putting them on MS at better times or routing them via connections on reputable carriers?
