No, Turkey won't mind, but the Saudis/UAE might not like Britain seemingly supporting the Qatar-Turkey alliance. Obviously it's an operational decision taken by a publicly-owned private company, not a statement of UK foreign policy, but the other Gulf states might not appreciate the distinction...

Anyway, this is starting to feel a bit OMNI, so probably doesn't merit further discussion here.

Oh, I think the Saudis know exactly what they are doing and appreciate all the distinctions very finely.

Lots of T3 action on the most recent dates. I wonder how routes are being chosen. Are they looking at Club loads and trying to avoid downgrades?

I'm sure the Saudis understand the difference perfectly well. It would be a bit naive to expect the government to start making BA's flight rosters for them.

I'm sure the Saudis don't like BA flying to Tel Aviv as well. Or Iran.

That would be a first

I suspect it is more about juggling the aircraft utilisation as efficiently as possible. No point towing the aircraft between T3 and T5 every time they come back to LHR.

I'm assuming having one aircraft nightstopped in IST, allows QR to rotate some crews there?

Does QR have a major base at IST?

Not particularly, no.

However, as QR fly into both airports in Istanbul, they do have 4 flights a day between the two - and DOH-IST is a relatively short flight which allows for crew rotations from DOH (if necessary).

That being said, it is my understanding that the crew rostered onto the 'Qataba' flights, are mostly basing themselves from LHR opposed to DOH.

I think they may indeed be doing just that. I have an upcoming TXL-LHR-TXL in CE where the outbound is pretty full with six rows of CE and the inbound which is pretty empty has just changed from six rows to three in CE. Thinking this might indicate usge of a QR airframe.

Just took BA 764 operated by Qatar in economy. Good flight, three rows on the aircraft with extra legroom (8 14 & 15) , hot snack and free drinks. Happy and makes a change from the BA short haul grind. 😊

Does anyone know what rotations are operating tomorrow? (7 July). Seems to be the same PRG rotation - I'm on BA861 in club and was hoping they might go on that one - and there aren't any avios seats on the next which i think will be the QR based on current trends!

I have a couple of Zagreb flights coming up and I note that every day so far it's been a Qatar flight. That's not a problem of itself, but if I'm booked in Club, and get downgraded because there aren't enough seats, am I entitled to anything, or is it exceptional circumstances and therefore I just have to forget it?
