Same for me still. Transaction date shows 1st Aug on Marriott website - nothing hit my BAEC account yet.

My Marriott account is also showing no activity. Time for another follow-up e-mail.

All this hassle for a quarter of a one-way RFS.

Was/is it worth it? No way.

Am I going to let them away with it? No way.

Another e-mail sent:

Good afternoon.

I am following up, for the third time, on the recent promotion, promising 1,000 British Airways Avios for new Marriott Rewards accounts, offered in June.

Initially, I was promised that these miles would be credited by the end of June.

I then followed up and was told they would be credited by the end of July.

On my third follow-up, I was sent a generic copy-and-paste response, promising that these miles would be credited "as soon as possible".

Last week, I also received a blank e-mail, with no subject line, from Marriott Rewards, in the middle of the night.

This is simply not good enough.

Please could you advise when, how and ultimately whether, Marriott intends to deliver on it's promise?

Timothy [Redacted]

I know I'll just get another copy-and-paste letter, telling me, in as polite a way as possible, to go forth and multiply, but I'm not letting them away with this.

As expected:

Dear Timothy [Redacted],

Thank you for contacting Marriott Rewards.

This issue is being worked on and hopefully resolved within the next week. Please be assured that your miles will be posted once the issue is resolved.

Thank you for choosing Marriott.

Sincerely,

Seriously, how difficult can it really be to credit a few partner miles?

They are flirting with dishonesty by claiming the points have ever been applied by showing it in my Marriott account. Get the feeling they've done this as a short term fix to stop people complaining/chasing.

Mine appeared on my BAEC account on 4th August, my husband's however (who filled the form in maybe 30 min after me) are nowhere to be seen.

I agree. I now have the following entry on my Marriott account:

2017 DOUBLE MILES - 1K BONUS
1,000 milesPosted

Aug, 01 2017

Type

Bonus

Firstly, these miles are not on my BA account.

Secondly, the date of August 01 is just an outright lie. I checked my Marriott account 3 days ago, and this entry was not there.

This is today's communication from Marriott. Still no sign on BA.

Thank you for contacting Marriott Rewards.

There a delay in the mileage posting for British Air. I'm sorry but we do not have a time frame as to when the mileage will post.

Sincerely,

They really don't seem to have a clue. Their reply to you is totally inconsistent with mine, which stated (5 days ago) that they hoped to resolve it within a week.

My guess is they have received a much higher response to this promo than they expected, and they are hoping people will just go away.

Also worrying that they don't even know the correct name of their airline partner.

This does not inspire confidence in Marriott as a company.

All this effort over 1000 avios? You can't even get a BOB bacon butty for that can you?

It's the principle now.

If I had known at the start that it would be anywhere near this much hassle, I wouldn't have touched it.

I stand corrected, you can get a bacon butty for 600 avios.
