Has JW Blue been enhanced away?

No JW Blue in GF, "we don't serve that" was the answer...

Panic over. 10 mins later a bottle appears. I'll get my coat...

My heart just skipped a beat. Thank god for the second post!

Sorry guys. Amlodipine is on me...

I am of the understanding that the JW Blue is something only the lounge management can set out, because it is (by some margin) the most expensive drink in GF per bottle. So there can be some delay in replenishing it until a person with the access to the stocks can go and get some.

That would be understandable. It was just the "we don't serve that" from a clueless lounge attendant that scared the living daylights out of me...

I can, indeed, only credit that to them being clueless and given the current climate of product quality reduction from BA, one has to think they might be correct about any item no longer stocked and that causes worry.

On the other hand, fortunately, a good blended whisky as well as a good single malt is de rigeur in any higher end bar selection aiming at a global clientele so without BA deviating significantly from a higher end product [1] there will be JW Blue or something else reasonable such as higher end Chivas Regal.

[1] Let us just fast-forward past the mockery of BA that adds little.

How many times have we had exactly this thread over the years? To be fair, BA must be getting a killer price on it, otherwise I'm sure it would have gone back in the days of CDC.

I suppose I really ought to try this stuff, to get a vague idea what the froth is all about.

My experiences take me from Islay malts to Makers Mark. It could be an interesting/apathetic experience :)

Here's a bottle of JW Blue enhanced from a lounge. Proved useful in removing that sticky blue stuff with the aid of a steel scrubber. Diet Coke a much superior drink but does not remove glue as well!
