Avios & Tier Points calculator mistake?

Found a great fare on Finnair (DUB TO CTL_ in business class (fare class I) only to find out when I had booked it that according to BA's calculator it will generate 0 tier points!.
Is it worth calling BA Executive club to clarify if this is correct? I need my tier points to ensure I maintain my silver status at anniversary.

As it says on the calculator (indeed, in the screenshot!) - if your trip involves multiple legs, you have to input them individually.

The OP may have done so, there is a seasonal DUB-CLT direct AA flight.

Booking under the AY codeshare? You will still earn 140 TPs. If it posts incorrectly you would have to contact BAEC for a correction.

Yes... this is the flight I'll be taking on AA metal but it is a Finnair codeshare. If it were an AA flight number I would get tier points

You are entitled to 140 TP under the AY codeshare as well. The calculator is incorrect.

I seem to remember that AY TATL codeshares have had issues not posting after flights, but if this happens just do a claim through your BAEC account homepage - you should get your 140 TP a few days later.

If I do get 140 tier points, I then go into the position of whether I should try to chase BAEC gold .... I generally fly to just tip over the 600 tier points for silver

The calculator and the system that credits flights to your account do not actually use the same database (goodness knows why that is - but it has always been so).

Therefore, if a flight seems to say zero in the calculator, that does not automatically/necessarily infer you will get a problem with crediting.

The calculator returns zero for routes it doesn't know about, etc.

The points should post correctly after the flight - on your point about chasing up Gold, it will depend how short you are from it and whether the benefits of Gold are worth for you. The benefits of Silver tend to be good enough for most flyers...

@www.bestuseofpoints I appreciate you are a recent joiner to FT. However, have you read the FT rules? In particular the first bullet point under section 1 on Usernames?

@internetvicar

After just shy of ten years since registering with FT it's good to see you have made your first post. Hopefully one of the BAEC ambassadors will be along at some point to offer an official welcome as you break out from lurkerdom.

Sorry to jump on your thread. I have a flight booked and it says I will get 14,697 Avios and 560 tier points. When i put the flight into the calculator it has more Avios and less tier points. Is it (the calculator) generally unreliable?
