Flights into LHR tonight all delayed 2hrs?

Flying DUB-LHR tonight and ba app shows taking off 15mins late but arriving 2hrs late, so a 3hr flight time which seemed bizarre

checked MAN-LHR and the same thing, showing on time takeoff but 2hr delayed arrival. Marseille the same.

is this a technical error in the app or has some sort of incident occurred down there tonight?

There has been about two hours of thunderstorms, torrential rain and hail over central london. Started just before 4pm, and not long dissipated.

The reality is flights will be held at departure rather than a 2hr hold.

When I've seen similar with bad weather at destination, the extra time has been spent sitting on the departure taxiway waiting for clearance to take off. Good luck!

Yes, expect to board on time, only to get the dreaded "Apologies, but we've been given a slot time of ..." speech from the captain.

Bad weather affecting London airspace this evening unfortunately. From Eurocontrol network ops:

EGLL (London Heathrow)
Arrivals regulated with reduced rate due to CB's.
High delays.

EGKK (London Gatwick)
Arrivals regulated with reduced rate due to CB's.
Moderate to high delays.
CB's (Cumulonimbus) = Thunderstorms

Amazing website, never seen it before. I will probably be spending hours on here now.

There's been some intense downpours in South-East England this afternoon, with a generalised warning from the Met Office of hazardous driving conditions due to possible localised flooding leading to loss of control, etc. Those are also conditions making aviation a trickier endeavour.

Under the flight path 6 miles from LHR and no thunderstorm all day here... plenty of nasty looking clouds with the potential though. The flights are coming in at the usual rate. Surprised at the delays tbh.

Pilot just told us LHR landing rate is down from 48 to 26 an hour. But on the plus side should be pushing back in an hour rather than 75min now...
