Might as well make the best of it all...

I got back from a big trip to the Far East only a week ago and count myself lucky...

So are there any deals out there as BA discount to get bum on seat after this little disaster....??

Tier point year is nearly up so must get some more flying in while I can like the lemming I am...!!

Oddly enough, I was wondering the same thing, but I guess they would stack up wanting to get goodwill back (haha!) against the huge amount this has cost them in compensation.

I wouldn't bet on the former. It it won't stop me looking!

Really?

I'd much rather hope that everyone involved at BA will fix this IT issue now and get everyone affected under way and rebooked before planning a sale.

Well the BBC has not 1 but 2 links to a page entitled "BA What Are My Rights?" in its home page. They're going to need some revenue generating to cover the compensation bil.

If forward bookings fall off a cliff, expect a sale about Thursday of next week.

Exactly. Today really isn't the time for this.

It's going to need profits not just revenue to cover the bill. I suspect you're right though, if forward bookings look weak we'll see some targeted motivational prices over the next period.

From my read of this thread, their first priority is to salvage a customer base at any price

So does the fiasco warrant a global fare sale to build back bookings?

I am not sure that those who have been affected by the IT failures would book a sale fare right now with BA. They might still be travelling and upset after all.

I used to like those Thursday sales from years gone by

A well placed source has said they expect something in the next 4 weeks or so.
