This thread details good value hotels on the BA network suitable for ex-EU starting points. An additional useful resource for those performing a back to back on the last/first flights of the day can be found here.

AMS
  • Citizen M Schiphol (two minute walk to terminal)
  • Holiday Inn Express £70 free shuttle

ARN
  • Radisson Blu Arlandia - not as close as the Radisson Sky City, but cheaper. Free airport bus from right outside the terminal when you arrive and one in the morning too. Good breakfast and a nice restaurant/bar downstairs. Nice rooms.

BRU
  • Pentahotel Brussels Airport €50 with free airport shuttle - Very nice presentable hotel with a decent bar and food options. Also available on Hotels.com rewards

CDG
  • Ibis is next to the T1 RER stop
  • Cabinn Metro is two stops on the local train towards the city and about as cheap as you'll get there. Next to a shopping mall for any purchases / cheap food requirements too.

CPH
  • Hilton attached to terminal, not cheap but Honors points can help
  • Quality Hotel Airport Dan - we walked, which took 15/20mins...to be honest should have got a cab. They have a free shuttle most of the time though. Basic room, but great breakfast and the place is cheap. Also has some nearby restaurants that looked nice.
  • Copenhagen Go Hotel, next to Tårnby station 3 min/1 stop from airport. Can be noisy (little insulation). 24 hr supermarket at train station. Advance rates start at DKK400/£46.
  • Cabinn Metro is two stops on the local train towards the city (Ørestad) and about as cheap as you'll get there. Next to a shopping mall for any purchases / cheap food requirements too. About £45 for a small single room.

DUB
  • Holiday Inn Express £55 free shuttle or Crowne Plaza £49 same shuttle (it's next door)
  • Maldron..walk-able and cheap. Good restaurant and bar internally, really nice rooms for the price. Also has a shuttle bus but that's on request via a phone call)

FRA
  • Steigenberger is a 5-10 minute shuttle bus ride away Again got an Expedia special for about £85

GOT
  • Flygplatshotellet is a 5 minute taxi from the airport (although very expensive at c.£20 if you pick up from the rank. Try uber, although not many around. Or you could walk). c. £80, very basic but nice and clean.

HEL
  • Cumulus Airport

LIN
  • Espressohotel Milano Linate (5-10 minute walk)
  • Holiday Inn £52 free shuttle

LUX
  • Doubletree £70 free shuttle
  • Ibis Budget and NH (both cheap and less than 5 mins walk)

MAD
  • Axor Feria / Axor Barajas. 50€ (Dec'16). Free shuttle. In the middle of nowhere, but there is a Shopping mall ~10min walk.
  • Crowne Plaza £36 free shuttle
  • Ibis a relatively short shuttle ride from T4, but stops at other terminals out and inbound
  • WeAre Chamartin. 50€ (Dec'16). A bit dated. Isn't strictly an Airport Hotel but has a super convenient location for people who want to visit Madrid because it is located in the Chamartin station building.

MUC
MXP
  • Holiday Inn Express £45 paid shuttle. Got this for 45 Euro a night early in year. Sheraton in the airport can be had for 100 Euro.

OPO

ORY
  • Ibis £40 short walk

OSL
  • Park Inn by Radisson Oslo Airport (about a 3 minute walk. Mostly under cover but take a coat in winter). Bookable via the Carlson Rezidor website, cash back available via the usual cash back sites
  • Radisson Blu Oslo Gardemoen (three minute walk to terminal)

PRG
  • Holiday Inn is usually around EUR80. A free shuttle or a 10-minute walk to the terminal.
  • Courtyard Marriott is directly across from the terminal and accordingly usually slightly dearer.
  • Rest and Fun Stay Center. Inside the airport, in the transit area, often available for £40-50.

ZRH
  • Holiday Inn Express £74 free shuttle

Question OT: Cheap ex-EU airport hotels

I was going to post this on the Hotel or Destination subforums but those have very specific sections (by chain or country, respectively) and as this is most applicable to BA flyers I hope the mods allow keeping this not-directly BAEC thread.

As title suggests, what are some favourite airport hotels throughout Europe that are airport based (ideally walking distance from terminal, at worst a short and cheap/free/ frequent transport away) that are cheap and cheerful? I am looking for Ibis/Premier Inn level, or slightly worse as long as clean, for under €75. I do sometimes stay 2-3 nights depending on flight times and location so any that offer deals on multiple nights also good to know.

I stayed at the following hotels which were just fine for a night:

These are probably a bit above your budget though.

OSL: Park Inn by Radisson Oslo Airport
ARN: Radisson Blu Arlandia Hotel
HEL: Cumulus Airport

DUB: Large collection, some walkable or free Shuttle bus. Not sure about being in your price range, you would need to check.

Under €75 is a pretty low bar so can't help with that. I can say I have done:

AMS - Citizen M Schiphol (two minute walk to terminal)
LIN - Espressohotel Milano Linate (5-10 minute walk)
MUC - Hilton Munich Airport (onsite connected to T2 but approx 5-10 minute walk to T1 checkin)
OSL - Radisson Blu Oslo Gardemoen (three minute walk to terminal)

The LIN hotel was actually £63 when I booked and the restaurant is OK there, so probably around your limit.

A good general tip (if you don't have status) is to make use of the Hotel Deals forum as they often have discount codes of up to 20% for third party hotel booking sites (hotels.com, expedia and the like)

ex-EU should be substantially more driven by the airfare and positioning costs, than the existence of a particularly cheap and cheerful hotel for one or two nights.

Walking distance to airport is almost always going to cost more than 75 euros, because that's a highly desirable attribute for an airport hotel. Free or public transport connections are more feasible.

Well yes, but there's little point in considering ex-EU to save a few hundred quid if hotels around the location all tend to be £££.

I think this thread is a great idea. Maybe should be a wiki thread with recommendations by airport. Even knowing prices vary hugely, it's good to know which are good/bad optoins.

Restricting it to specifically cheap airport convenient hotels (not just any in-terminal hotel...):

AMS - Citizen M (5 mins walk)
LUX - Ibis Budget and NH (both cheap and less than 5 mins walk)
CDG - Ibis is next to the T1 RER stop
ORY - Ibis (2 min walk)

Agree this is a good idea for a thread (sub €75 a bit trickier, but anyway...). Some data points below

DUB - an increasingly expensive market in general, Maldron and Radisson on campus (not connected), other options a shuttle away, but as easy to stay in the city really
CPH - Hilton attached to terminal, not cheap but Honors points can help
MAD - Ibis a relatively short shuttle ride from T4, but stops at other terminals out and inbound
AMS - seconding Citizen M; Hampton by Hilton is one stop on train and a 5 min walk (think there's also a shuttle)
LIS - not sure of actual options nearby, but airport is v central and getting downtown on metro or via taxi is very easy

Having stayed there yesterday yes AMS Airport Hampton Inn by Hilton does have a shuttle shared with two other hotels, hours of 0500 until midnight but only every 40 minutes.

OSL- Best Western was an adequate and also has a shuttle for a small fee.
Smart hotel in the centre is good too, with train to and from the centre

CPH Hilton is now a Clarion Hotel.

DUB - Premier Inn is fine with only a short courtesy bus ride (1 euro each way). The Crowne Plaza is also good if you have some spare IHG rewards.

The former Hilton CPH is now Clarion since April 1 2017

OSL - another vote for the Park Inn, a short walk even with 2 kids and a ton of luggage and skis. They were also very accommodating in allowing us to swap our booked evening meal to lunch the following day. Price was circa £100 via Carlson website

DUB - Maldron was fine. Shuttle bus needed because of the amount of luggage we had with us plus the kids. Had to phone up a couple of times as they forgot us. Got a deal on Expedia for £93 for that one.

FRA - used the Steigenburger last time out, again very good at the time. Again got an Expedia special for about £85
