Have had a look and you can get J returns to JFK for 1350 connecting to the AA flight at LHR.

Not just BA - just checked DL from BHX, MAN and NWI - all connecting to same transatlantic flight at AMS. Manchester 1k cheaper than BHX which for a 90 minute train journey is quite the saving.

Now, I'm familiar with all the savings to the US, which is great, however when it comes to other destinations savings do not seem to be there, whether in business or coach (i.e. Asia, S America) .

When researching non-US flights more than often I get a message "save and fly from Edi, Gla, Abz.

I've always (well, perhaps not "always", but over the last year!) wondered why that is...

Yes, I've had a few scary ones on that A9 north of Inverness. Interesting that you have a connection, Sealink, to Caithness. My folk were from there too, but since they're no longer alive I don't get up there very often these days. We were in Bower for years, then moved to Dunnet with its wonderful beach.

I could really used this connectivity at Inverness airport back in the day.

Oh dear... INV is a dreadful airport, please, nobody really wants to go there
It's bad enough everyone wanting to live in Inverness but we are not going to be able to cope with a massive influx of folks, (esp FT's) in our wee local airport! The bar isn't big enough - when the rugby fans got stuck in the airport a few years ago, they drank the place dry

That happens in the CCR from time to time when certain FTr's get together and do the same with the LPGS

At least in LHR there are alternatives when in desperation... INV - nada!

INV is actually superb for US East Coast routes as BA has to fight against KLM and Delta. A September weekend trio to EWR on BA is 205 return in economy.
