Out of interest were you going from the UK, ie because ATH is a good waypoint fares-wise etc., or did you happen to be going from Greece anyway? I was wondering about QR via Olso but am interested that EK (on a QF booking) is an option for TP, just wodering whether I should begin my search from ATH like you or if you chose that for other reasons.

I flew from there because it was the cheapest - I wasn't time precious so happily spent the night in ATH before.
However, what I would say is, it was a right ball ache on the way back...
BUT...I saved almost 50% on what it would have cost from London....
