When will I learn?
I am less than a week away from my first F experience counting the days but when I read threads like this I think "What have I done? Why did I pay the high fuel surcharge and spend all those FFmiles?"
Yes, my expectations are too high and it is too late to temper them. I already fantasize about prancing around the cabin in my PJs and slippers, eating my gourmet dinner with my husband ( I'll even sit in the jumper seat),nibbling on chocolates and putting the ones I don't like back, sleeping soundly with the BA provided bedding and my ambien, and finally on my return, pushing my way through the uninvited standing outside the Concorde Room secret door as I wave my FC boarding pass saying "excuse me. excuse me. I belong"
I have it all planned and have been practicing for months.
I probably should stop reading FT until our return.

A large number of F pax are connecting pax, so it would be highly surprising if they close that door. And there is nothing secret about it. It is well advertised to transfer pax.

Secret door is just a term on here. I know it isn't very secretive although it isn't emblazoned with signs either. Besides, it has been widely reported on here and, I think confirmed by BA, that it will be closing if it hasn't already.

I'd perhaps suggest that you go take a look around other areas of FT before suggesting that other airlines manage to live up to expectations in F. Working in a consumer facing industry, people who have unrealistic expectations will find a way to moan regardless of who they eventually use. In my experience this accounts for around 20% of the British public.
I've flown Long Haul J on various airlines and all of them better than my BA F experience, on-board and pre-boarding...
For what BA charge, the product isn't as good as similarly priced alternatives.
Brand loyalty is a mysterious thing. For me it's partly nostalgia, partly that I can earn/redeem avios more easily than any other FF currency, and partly living in hope that it will get better...

There are new signs on the flight connections route advising that the CCR is accessible downstairs by following signs to south lounges. However, the guardians suggested that the door might not close as it is still being used a lot so was under review...

Same with my experience in the F seats (albeit with CW service) to ANU earlier this year. VIIW outbound was in a dreadful state, flared carpets and a filthy seat, also with scuffs and spillage marks all over the cabin plastics. VIIX on the return was a bit better, but still not in a good state. Had I paid a full F fare I'd be absolutely furious.
In comparison to the immaculate state of the QR aircraft I flew on last week (in J), the state of these LGW birds is fairly shameful.
