Thanks for the warning, not that I can do much about it! That area behind the pool was ideal ... behind the umbrellas, where a small crowd is gathered [see attached]

At least we have a Smoking room booked ... although I will be double-checking on that next week

We found it "vibrant"

Only in CT for 3 days, though, before heading to Stellenbosch and Franschhoek for the next 10 days.

Sadly won't make the do, but will be staying at the Cullinan next week for a few days. We get a really good corporate rate there, so it was hard to resist.

Looking forward to checking out Cape Town. Despite 30+ trips to Jo'burg in the past few years, this will be my first to to CT!

Oooh ... PLEASE sniff out (haha) the smoking scenario at the far end of the pool and report back!!

Use of my CPT TR may also be relevant, not only in respect of the Cullinan but also walkable/shuttlebus-able diversions (if you have free time, of course). Do recommend Stella bar/bistro ... never bothered with the main restaurant except for their excellent (if busy) breakfast options, where it can be a bit hectic!

FYI, Filthy Monkey has confirmed the smoking area still exists, where those folks are sitting, although most of the umbrellas have gone. And you can just see the "Smoking Permitted" sign on the wall

As one of the attendees of the September EK mini do, I might be interested to join the BA one. I admit to flying BA/Comair locally at times and BA intra Europe so maybe I ‘qualify’. Where / when?

But, but, but ... we are ALL of the Flyertalk community!! Dammit, usually at least 50% of our annual mileage is on AA

So ... be welcome [wherever and whenever] and share experiences! Isn't that what we all do?

As there is not a huge number of folks interested, Im quite happy with Uncle Ts suggestion of Stella at the Cullinan.

Now, would people prefer Saturday 10th or Sunday 11th?

Either day, 6 pm onwards...

If anyone would like my cell, please PM me

Personally, Sunday 10th please, according to my Calendar! We don't leave UK until Saturday (9th), and perhaps by the 10th the Rugby Sevens guests will have departed: it was quite busy this weekend last year!

Yes Apologies. Definitely 10th. Which is a Sunday evening!

i have been thoroughly confused myself with dates and thought the 10th was Saturday.

A French "picinici" sounds rather fun.
