35 minute change at LGW

Would this be allowed ?

Glasgow to LGW - BA2961 - 1400 ---> 1535
LGW to FAO - BA2696 - 1610 ---> 1905

Would be looking to book 1st leg cash and 2nd leg with Avios ?

Is it simply impossible ?

PS - We cannot fly any earlier im afraid so would really be the only option.

It sounds as if you want to book these as two separate tickets (you can't combine a cash booking and an Avios one on a single ticket), in which case should you miss your connection (definitely a distinct possibility), you'd be unprotected and would have to repurchase your second leg.

I'm not even sure you could book it as a single ticket (either cash or Avios), although I'n not sure what the LGW minimum connection time is.

Suspect it's below the minimum connection time. Be aware if you have it booked as 2 separate itineraries you won't be protected if your first flight doesn't get you there on time for the second one. Presume HBO too - checked luggage would never make that tight a connection!

Cannot see this working as I think all domestic are bus on arrival since the move to the South terminal. You would have to re clear security and get to the gate as well.

No chance ... nothing to stop you booking it as two separate tickets but very very unlikely that you would make that 'connection'

In the olden days at the North terminal the risk of a bus on a domestic arrival was very high at Gatwick .. not sure if that's changed at the South terminal but regardless your chances of managing this connection would be slim to none I'd say ... To have a decent run at it you'd need about 20 minute extra at a minimum from an early arrival of your first flight and/or a delay on the 2nd flight [ obviously assuming your travelling Hand luggage only .. if you've got hold luggage forget about it completely ! ]

Suggest you read this thread:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...ravellers.html

In summary:
Domestic arrivals are bussed to the terminal and there is no flight connections so it's a re-entry via landside security.
Minimum connection time is 1 hour 15 mins
To try it on separate tickets is just crazy.

May be worth trying it as a dummy booking on ba.com and seeing if it is permissible, at least in theory. My guess is not though,

It won't be, 35 minutes is well under MCT.

Some observations:

- BA wouldn't sell this as a single ticket as it won't meet the MCT
- Buying separate tickets you cannot check any luggage through, and you may not be able to obtain the second boarding pass in GLA
- You would need to get from a domestic gate to an international gate at Gatwick
- It will take several minutes to unload the first flight, and you need to get to the gate before it closes. That 35 minutes quickly becomes 10 minutes

Just don't do it

If you are Gold and more than a month from flying, don't forget the Gold Priority Reward possibility.
