Club Europe Catering Guide 2017.
This thread outlines the new arrangements for Club Europe catering, introduced on Sunday 26 March 2017 and due to end on Tuesday 11 September 2018, based on 3 zones. A new Club Europe catering product is due to be launch on Wednesday 12 September 2018, and this is based on 4 bands. The main information piece - in terms of timings and the distance zones for the meals can be found in post 1. The following cross references the photos below against the matrix of options. In addition to the photos, some FTers have written extensively on their experiences so there is more to this thread than the pictures. Also note that there was an increase in food offered on some combinations shortly after the start-up, so the more recent photos may be the best place to start. The previous shorthaul catering guide, now locked but which had the previous 4 band system, is to be found here.
Numbers relate to the post number. Vegetarian means the alternative option provided as standard rather than the pre-ordered versions - which are VLML (Lacto-ovo), AVML (Asia) and VGML (Vegan) . There are differences between the offering in/out of LHR, LGW, LCY+STN. Last update: 833

Note posts before 1-832 are typically the April 2017 menu. 833 and above is from the menu for May 2017.

Lux-Lhr today- options for 11.35am take off - chicken and tomato panini with chocolate tart or vegetarian meze with chocolate tart. The 2nd option was also the asian vegetarian special meal except the chocolate tart was replaced with a semolina tart. Served with warm bread rolls.
I had the meze and it was surprisingly good. Both desserts were also quite tasty. The panini looked heavy going especially serving it with bread rolls.

Just flew into lhr from Amsterdam. Had the kosher meal because flying with my practicing mum. Was amazed by the good quality salmon we reveived together with salad and a strawberry mouse for dinner. Normally not one to eat stictly kosher but will deffo select kosher in the future in club europe. Can recommend

The new catering will be done by Do Co. But only in the first 6 months, then catering will revert back to Gate Gourmet.
The above photos are actual meals that will be offered in the initial run.

Fake news
Whether the budget changes again in 6 months though is anyones guess but caterers have contracts that definitely dont change every 6 months.....

So is that now the only glassware loaded? No water/gin tumblers, only the thimbles? Shame they haven’t taken the opportunity to bring the CW glassware to CE.

Stop spreading fakenews....the catering will still be done by Doco as it has been for several years...gate gourmet hasn't done club europe for almost a decade, they only do BA longhaul. Only thing that changed is BA is spending more on the food again

However this is in fact true.
It was also said that “the amount of food offered to passengers will stay the same, just delivered differently”, I am not sure I agree.

Its not true, I actually talked to a doco rep in terminal 5 two weeks ago when they had all the food trays displayed on tables, i thought food was provided by DHL as its their trucks you see on the planes
he corrected me and said DHL just deliver, doco produce and have for years but now there is an increased investment so the product is better

I suppose BA might have told Do&Co that they will keep using them for years, but in fact they secretly intend to terminate the contract after 6 months.
It would be odd to reveal that commercial decision on FT though...

Do&Co in Hatton Cross do shorthaul and JFK from LHR; Gate Gourmet by LHR T4 provide longhaul from LHR, Alpha (dnata in other words) in Crawley do all LGW, Newrest over in Barking do LCY's catering, and finally Hermolis in Wembley do Kosher for all locations. Then the drinks come from other locations. So quite a logistical challenge, hence DHL's involvement.

With all due respect to all, this comes from a trustworthy source, however I may have misunderstood something. What was said for sure that short haul will only be catered by DoCo initially.
This does not affect long haul catering.
In no business of spreading “fake news”.

OMG I always associate Do&Co with high quality catering on TK ,OS and the LH lounge in T2, I hadn't realised they had a budget arm that caters CE.
