Club Europe Catering Guide 2017.

This thread outlines the new arrangements for Club Europe catering, introduced on Sunday 26 March 2017 and due to end on Tuesday 11 September 2018, based on 3 zones. A new Club Europe catering product is due to be launch on Wednesday 12 September 2018, and this is based on 4 bands. The main information piece - in terms of timings and the distance zones for the meals can be found in post 1. The following cross references the photos below against the matrix of options. In addition to the photos, some FTers have written extensively on their experiences so there is more to this thread than the pictures. Also note that there was an increase in food offered on some combinations shortly after the start-up, so the more recent photos may be the best place to start. The previous shorthaul catering guide, now locked but which had the previous 4 band system, is to be found here.

Numbers relate to the post number. Vegetarian means the alternative option provided as standard rather than the pre-ordered versions - which are VLML (Lacto-ovo), AVML (Asia) and VGML (Vegan) . There are differences between the offering in/out of LHR, LGW, LCY+STN. Last update: 833

Note posts before 1-832 are typically the April 2017 menu. 833 and above is from the menu for May 2017.

So I assume this Club Europe catering relaunch is either going to be a 'low key' soft launch or it's postponed? haven't seen any build up to it at all and I thought it was meant to launch next month.

I'm just amused/ flabbergasted that a relaunch of CE catering is being discussed when the same identical two main dishes & same starter( note the non-plural) have been slopped out on 6 out of 8 Long band CE sectors over the last 3 months out of LGW. I'd dearly love to tuck into some salmon or some albeit paltry prawns( by FT accounts i've read). > Gripe ends.

Those with a line to Mr Cruz and/or other powers that be are welcome to let him/ them know we'd quite like to the variance promised and some fishy goodness BEFORE they go changing it all again, or that we'd at least appreciate sampling them while they look to mess around with it all, honestly at this point i'd settle for that. > Gripe actually ends

I was on BA461 (Madrid-Heathrow, 772) yesterday. Polished MF crew. 1 hour 40 was our flight time and seemed like Club cabin was full with some in F cabin. Got my hot meal (main) literally at top of descent. Crew were clearing in at 20 mins to landing, no tea / coffee offered but did get 2 g&ts during flight (the crew didn’t ditch drink run before dinner). Service seemed to be completely hand run from galley. Is this the standard? If so, it seems like crew are being set up to fail as it’s a lot of walking to & fro.

Not a criticism of crew as they were very good, as was the food (chicken tikka, i’ve tried the fish pie before), but the service just seemed to take too long.

This chicken dish really was rather excellent. The truffled linguine works very well at altitude.

It's such a shame they started serving sandwiches for the ksml afternoon tea a few months ago, it's the one meal when ksml is just as ghastly as the rest. Mind you, had the infamous three slivers of chicken with mayonnaise salad (grated something for pretense) three salad leaves and half cherry tomato and that's still horrid, but as it was an upgrade I won't complain!

BA 1483 GLA-LHR August 2018

British Airways 12:30pm flight 1483
Glasgow to London Heathrow

Choice of tomato and mozzarella salad or Chicken Caesar Paninin
I had the sandwich, which was nice.
Chocolate mousse cake was lovely as usual!

Great meal for a 55 minutes flight

Are you sure it's not the other way round? This very much looks like the tomato mozzarella panino (not the chicken Caesar) which is indeed the current rotation. If so the salad would be the chicken with mayonnaise-y thing
