Club Europe Catering Guide 2017.

This thread outlines the new arrangements for Club Europe catering, introduced on Sunday 26 March 2017 and due to end on Tuesday 11 September 2018, based on 3 zones. A new Club Europe catering product is due to be launch on Wednesday 12 September 2018, and this is based on 4 bands. The main information piece - in terms of timings and the distance zones for the meals can be found in post 1. The following cross references the photos below against the matrix of options. In addition to the photos, some FTers have written extensively on their experiences so there is more to this thread than the pictures. Also note that there was an increase in food offered on some combinations shortly after the start-up, so the more recent photos may be the best place to start. The previous shorthaul catering guide, now locked but which had the previous 4 band system, is to be found here.

Numbers relate to the post number. Vegetarian means the alternative option provided as standard rather than the pre-ordered versions - which are VLML (Lacto-ovo), AVML (Asia) and VGML (Vegan) . There are differences between the offering in/out of LHR, LGW, LCY+STN. Last update: 833

Note posts before 1-832 are typically the April 2017 menu. 833 and above is from the menu for May 2017.

Ah, yes, brain damage. You are correct, "pasta" with salmon, some other stringy stuff with duck.

Even in the homeland these days the notion of what is appropriate is morphing ... and I would have sworn all my life that meatballs on pasta was a crime, but of course I had never traveled south of Rome. One quick trip and I was swiftly educated on that

Faro

Just returned on BA2695 FAO-LGW
fast track security which was a nice touch considering how busy the security queue was. lounge was ok, nothing flash but better than the scrum in the departure lounge.
Service on board was very efficient, at least 3 official bar runs and plenty of topping up when passing by. I like the new CE service routine. Food was good, very enjoyable flight.

Last nights LHR-GLA panini... at least managed two champagnes on the short hop. Not very inspiring, the side wasn't too attractive!

That is a Long Inbound on Rotation B, if my parsing on this subject is correct, and in which case it's the chicken red pepper risotto or the beef cheek. Both are good, I think the beef is the more flavoursome.

I didn't get a chance to take a picture but just had the 'Afternoon Tea' on a Gatwick to Venice flight. 3 stale finger sandwiches and the smallest piece of cake I've ever seen. It looked like the saddest kids meal ever.

It was dire, by far the worst snack (it wasn't a meal) I've had on a plane. If I wasn't so tired after my nightshift I think I would have complained to the CSM, going to shove a complaint towards BA online and see what I get back. Even with a cheap POUG I feel ripped off.

Split which catering band?

Hi flying new route to Split in June please can you advise if it is considered medium or long for CE catering? Can't see it on the map? Looks like Zagreb is medium but Dubrovnik is long many thanks.

Pretty much anything from BoB would have been more satisfying than this, surely ....

LGW to Venice

Evening flight.

Veggie meal. Was okay. Not sure why they insist on giving marg and not butter Crew were very apologetic that we got measly fruit bag and did offer dessert
Only 2 rows of CE. No curtain which was odd. Other choices chicken salad which seemed to look decent size of croque monsieur which one chap was delighted to say was a breakfast item in France

Great crew though and gave my Gold Ticket

LGW - BCN, 18 MAY, Club Europe, Breakfast

This was nice, and much less greasy than I've experienced before on occasion.

Was quite pleased with this. The cheesecake was especial.

I was on that flight as well. It certainly wasn't up to much. The outbound lunch on Tuesday was also poor - a half sandwich size Croque Monsieur.
